Seabelt not retracting

My driver's side seat belt isn't retracting well. It is VERY slow and unless I give it some help, doesn't retract at all.

Any quick way to fix this short of removing the mechanism and putting in a new one?

Thanks!

Check out the tech service link (In red)
You need to clean off the gunk that builds up on the shoulder loop. Look under the belt where it goes through the loop.

me too...

yeah I have the same problem with my i30. I tried cleaning the "0" hook with small grit sandpaper but that really didn't help. If you figure something out let me know.

Also look at the wind noise one and the interior squeaking one while you're at it
