CD Player Err on "New" Used 2000

Hi Guys,
Just bought my third Maxima, 2000 SE (Bose) after putting 107 K miles on a 1989 and then 153k miles on a 1995. Already love the car.
I boobooed and didn't check out the CD player at the dealer and it won't play a CD... gives an Err message and spits it out.

Does this sound like major cash? Replace? Does anyone recommend replacing the CD unit only? I sold the 95 and bought this one because I liked the sound of the bose system on the 2000 and really wanted to get away form spending too much time attempting to get an aftermarket system in my '95 to sound good.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks. A local shop charges $60 for an install or deinstall.. not really interested in pulling my dash apart. That would be $120 labor plus $195 plus shipping for a repair. Might look around here for a competitive quote.

its actually very easy to take out the head unit

the website has step by step directions

$120 is way to much, out here people charge $40 for installations

shop around im sure you'll find a better deal
