First time changing oil in used Max 98 How many quarts?

that's weird. Whenever I change my oil and let everything drain out completely, it honestly takes exactly 3.3-3.5 quarts for the scale to read "half full" the next day when it sits over night (because that's how one obtains the most accurate reading from what I know). And yes, I do change the filter every time.
Interesting. So that means your car is always using old oil. CHekc hte color of the oil when you put it in. Let hte car warm up, then let it cool down and see if hte color is hte same.

Just in case you didn't read my previous post in full -
I said that I drain my old oil completely. I take off the old filter and then I let the car sit there for a good hour or two before I fill it with the new oil. Then I put in exactly anywhere from 3.3 to 3.5 quarts of new oil, start the car up, and drive around a bit.
The next morning, I check the oil. It reads precisely "half way". I don't understand how you guys put in 4.25 quarts?????????
I swear, if I go even slightly over 3.5 quarts, then it points to either "full" or beyond that, which is bad.
....and no Kevlo, the oil looks fresh and clean the next day

Do you tilt the car to the left? Whenever I change my oil I put the jack on the driver's side of the car so that the oil seeps out completely. Wait 10-20 minutes and everytime I get 4.25 quarts out.

according to the owner's manual:
4 5/8 quartz with oil filter. i recommend mobil 1 supersyn synthetic 5w/30 + OEM nissan filter. don't use fram filter cuz they don't filter good and they suck.
