Anybody know how to get rid of the squeeling noise on my engine? I changed my belt and it is still there....i think it might be on of the bearings that the belt goes around but im not sure....i think this is a problem with some maxima, cause a friend of mine is got a 1999 I30 and he's got the same problem...anyways if anybody can help please let me know

It is nearly impossible to determine the cause of squeaking with your description.

Does the problem happen only when you are driving?

Does it happen with the A/C on/off?

Did you tighten your belts to the correct tension when you replaced them?

for sure it's from the belt mechanism

The noise is deffinetly coming from the belt mechanism....u can hear it when ur idling and when ur driving at slow speeds....but i goes away once the car speeds up....and yes the belts are tightened!!!

they squeal if theyre too tight, or too loose, from what i hear you should adjust the belt a month after because it gets a little more slack so you retighten, see if that helps you, if it doenst, loosen it and see if the it still squeals
