anyone with tokiko's have probs?
hey, i lowered my max and i think it's time for shocks. I have heard some horror stories about tokiko shocks and i was wondering if any are true. i heard they soften really quickly. My buddy and i are sorta debating on this issue cause he can't believe they would soften so fast. anyway, thanks for the help
okay, i went from eibachs and stock struts to intrax with tokicos. and the verdict is...i can't really tell the difference. i mean, i can tell it's a little less harsh when i switch lanes on the freeway and go over those reflectors, but other than that, it's only a little better than before. i think it's because the intrax springs are shwag!
I haven't had any trouble with mine yet, they have only been on for about 800 miles. I haven't heard of 3rd gens having the trouble with them that the 4th gens have, don't ask me why, they could be valved differently???
Read the suspension parts FAQ at the top of the page, and it would have answered this question already.
The problems aren't with the 3rd gen cars- the only ones that have seen the problem are with 4th gens.
Well, not the ONLY ones, but I have yet to hear of anyone with a problem on 3rd gens.
I've had my toks/eibachs on for a year now (as of 5-2 or so), and they still feel the same as I installed them, after eveyrthing was broken in.
I think a lot of what people are seeing on our cars is that they DO soften up quite a bit in the first couple of weeks after installation. This is just break in, not the struts wearing in. this is also partly the springs.
After I installed everything on my car, my ride height was hardly any lower than stock.. over the next couple of weeks, everything dropped into place, and everything's fine now.
