Unless your mods were insured as well, you're going to get a whopping $0 for them. Your car is probably worth next to nothing if it has any decent mileage on it, as well.

well if its 100% the other person's fault then the insurance will have to pay for everything including mods, at least thats what happened for me... I told the guy that a lot of my stuff were custom, and he said to call him when I found the same items, I did, and he wrote out the check for me (the agent that is)

^ that is something that i never heard of. when my friend's car got hit. All he got was what the car was valued the day it was hit. It was obvious the car had a full bodykit on it and a custom paint job. But he never got anything back for it.

95 maxima's should be good for 2-4 grand. but thats idea. best bet now is gut all parts from your car before they come and take it. and sell what you can and take the money they give you.

Usually you can work the insurance CO up about 2-3G's. So I would aim for 4-5grand.

I dunno what the deal is with all of you guys... your insurance company is obligated to give you an amount equal to the cost of replacing your car.

People just don't know how to drive when the weather is bad. I almost got rear ended twice today myself. People just have to SLOW DOWN AND PAY ATTENTION!! A good rule I learned in driving school, is when you are coming to a stop, especially in the rain or snow, rather than holding your brakes down until you stop, pump the brake pedal just enough to make your brakelights blink. It really gets the driver's attention behind you, rather than solid brakelights. This has saved me many times from getting stuffed in the a$$, because the moron behind me is not paying attention.

what will make the biggest difference is the trim level of your car. i use to have a 95 gle that got totaled out less than 2 years ago. they paid $6,500 for the car. what you should do for at leat your carbon fiber hood is send them the receipt, showing it was just put on. another option you have when the car is totaled is to retain the vechicle. thats what i did. it usually cost about $500 to retain the car after the insurance co. totals it out. this is what i did. they valued my car at 6,500, i bought it back from them for 500. after you do this you have options. you can either use the money they give you to fix the car, part it out, or sell it as is. if i had to guess, i would say they'll probably wind up giving you 4,000-4,500. even if you can sell the car for 1,000 your 500 up having to buy it back. i wound up selling mine for 2,000.

personally if the car was hit that bad, i would make as much as yoru money back as possible, and buy something else. come up with a few extra $$ and buy a newer one, like a 5th gen. i bought my friends 96 gle, and the car literlally fell apart after i bought it. i paid over $8,000 for the car, (almost 2 years ago), and probably put close to 4 grand into it since.. do yourself a favor, and consider this an opportunity to upgrade.

im guessing that youll probably get around $3-4k from them. thats how much they said my car was worth after they declared mine totalled but we repaired the $4500 in damage through insurance. accident wasnt even my fault.

Moral of the story... The instant you spend money on your car everyone on the road tries to run into you. Happened twice to me. Twice to my mom. To my friend once... and to you
My mom has had two cars destroyed within weeks of putting new clutches in, the second time it was parked on the side of the road.
I am getting my new clutch in next weekend lol. Needless to say my mom isn't going near the car.

To figure out about how much the insurance company is going to fork out for you, look around at how much other Maxima's are going for with the same options as yours. Insurance companies price out your car according to how much they sell for in the area you live. When I totalled my 98 Grand Prix the insurance company only wanted to give me $4500 for it I asked them what other Grand Prix's they compared mine to in order to get that cost and then told them about all the other options on my car had over the ones they were using to price it and was able to bump them up to $6500. Knowing how much youre car is selling for in your area and what options you have over ones for sale can get you more money. Don't let the insurance company screw you out of money.

try to save all of your receipts from the mods you have had done to your car. then you have proof in case the car gets annihilated. then the ins companys have no reason not to give you the money for all the mods too.

My mom backed into some ricer like 2 years ago, left a little crack in his aftermarket bumper, insurance paid like 1500-2000 for it to be replaced. If you just got the work done you will have reciepts and they should cover it.
