TS ecu is in: Not impressed.

I don't know why, but I'm not feeling a big power difference. 15hp should be very noticable.
It has advanced timing and fuel maps. NO redline upgrade. Whats the deal?
I think I've heard that this might gain 10-15Whp. This cant be true.

I just bought it from Maximaztion. This is the ecu I got from him with the daughter board in there. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=442327
From what he told me this is a reprogrammed TS ECU.

You SHOULD be able to feel an ECU. Only thing I can tell you is to dyno with stock ECU and this "TS" ecu to compare the numbers.

It has to relearn partial throttle data, but WOT is where you should noticeably feel the difference right off the bat.

Maybe give the ecu some time to run thru its cycle. How long have you been driving on it and noticing no gains?

I noticed it in the acceleration while cruising.

Then it must've been the placebo effect since no changes are made below 40% throttle.

Now that i think about it, that entire statement seems to be a contradiction.

It doesn't matter how many driving cycles there are. The open-loop maps are the same whether you've just popped the ECU in or if it's been in for a few months.

I couldn't 'feel' my ecu all that well when I upgraded to a TS ecu. So, I took it to the track and compared it. The only other difference in my car was definitive motorsports UDP. I went from a 14.6 to a 14.25. Get a before and after dyno. that would be the best way to prove it.

I could definitely feel it when i put it in. The tranny shifted much better and the torque seemed to be better all around and the power seemed to be much more linear. On the old ECU, it felt like i had no torque down low till i opened up the throttle and it got to higher RPMS. On the highway i noticed much better passing power.

It's not as dramatic as a ypipe if that's what you are thinking.

I took it out for some more driving, and I did notice that the trany engages much smoother, and pulls in 3rd and 4th are much stronger than before. I can't tell in 1st and 2nd because there is so much snow and ice around. I still haven't gone to the highway, but I think it will be better. I am looking to dyno somewhere in Gaithersburg soon.

I don't know why the shifting on the tranny would feel any different.

There are most likely gains there, your just probably expecting too much. And if your trying to test it out in the snow and ice that could be part of the reason

I felt the difference right away when I put my TS in. It pulled VERY hard at WOT after 3300 rpm. Do you have any codes? KS ghost code maybe?

I think I was just expecting a dramatic difference like when I got a ypipe, which was also a 15hp upgrade. But I feel it now, and its good. Its more noticeable in the higher gears (3,4,5) where I used to lack low end torque. But I NEED MORE POWA! Gotta save up 5gs for turbonium.

I think the tranny shifts better because the advanced timing revs slightly faster and therefor less bogging. I have a stage 2 clutch so..........

I don't either, but before I say this,

I'd make sure I'd havce a plot to back it up, before I start knocking on the product, and post a thread about it.

His car could have other issues.
