parts cost on tranny rebuild

i am planning on rebuilding, having someone else rebuild, my tranny this spring... i have a set labor cost, but am wondering how much i should plan to spend on parts... i know it depends on what gets replaced, so if i could get a range from fewest parts needed all the way to a complete rebuild. thanks!

The low end on parts should be $200.

I assume you're talking about a manual tranny.

$200 is a low end price for just bearings and seals. Synchros, hard parts, etc just go up from there.

i spent about $600dollars on parts, when i brought the car, the input shaft bearing was grinding really bad....then my clutch fork was going out...if your going to rebuild you tranny, i would get a nice aftermarket clutch, ACT

well there are 4 bearings that you need to replace, each is about $50-60 from the dealer unless you get discounted, then you need to buy the seals, oil channels, and some other things. Another thing there's two more bearings besides from the 4 bearing, one is about $160 and other one is about $80. I'm not really sure if you need to replace the two but just a heads up.
