HID Bezel, which one did you use? Or, did you make your own?
Well ... just as the title of this thread says, which bezel did you use, or did you make your own? I am getting ready to do my retrofit (A6 projectors- D2S) Bi-Xenon set-up and I am not sure what bezel I should use. I have given this great thought and I may just make my own. I have seen many different types / kinds on Ebay, but they are expensive or ugly as sin, or both!
I have seen some of the .Org members use PVC, rolled aluminium, and actuall HID bezels. Every one I have seen has looked good, but I want mine to look as good or better. I am just worried that I will get this done and it'll look like ****. I am sorrta a perfectionist (especially with the Max) so I want these to look decent. Any input is welcomed. Anyone know a good place to get Xenon bezels if that is the way to go?
Cheers mates!

If you want the really clean OEM look then yes go with factory shrouds, bad thing is there expensive and depending on the shroud you use will require you to trim them.
The cheap way is to create your own. Ive seen some really nice home mode shrouds, just got to be creative. HID planet has a whole thread dedicated to home made shrouds.
Here is a link to some OEM shrouds and bezels.

Hey JtzMax,
I'm glad you got you projectors in the mail. It was nice doing business with you. Most people are using electric range covers or Faucet Escutcheon flanges from a hardware store. Just keep in mind that your projector diameter is 3" Good luck with the retrofit and don't forget to leave feedback.
Thanks,
Man

Man ...
Thanks a bunch! You were very easy to deal with and I am glad we could both benefit from this transaction!
I will leave feedback (as soon as I learn how to) for you. I didn't realize you were sending bulbs too ... so I ordered 8000k (there are 6000k in there for now). I think it's good to have a new set of bulbs anyway. However, I may try the 6000k and see which I like better. (maybe I'll add my fogs and run them in there!)
Again, many thanks!

Whats the backside of the housing look like? How did you protect the projector with it sticking out of the back of the light? and does it glare alot being so far back in the housing?

It was my bad for not taking it out but, my mistake is your gain. I was going to keep those as back up incase my other ones blew. I would personally use the 6000k already in the projectors. It gives off enough color and better light output. The 8000k would probably lack the light output you are looking for, but it would still be better than halogens none the less.
Good luck on your retrofit!!!

Man ... if you need those back, PM me ... tis no problem really.
Thanks for the good deal!
I found some 3" PVC "Bushings" that fit really nicely. I'm working on them now making them fit like I want. I am now just puzzeled on how to do a deflector between the PVC and the housing. I'm still waiting on my ballasts so .. I got a couple days to figure it out. Any pointers?
Cheers

What do you mean by deflector?

umm ... there is a space between the lense and the mount. I think normally the bezel would cover this, that's why they want uber hunder dollars for OEM ones!
http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showth...threadid=12598 2nd - 3rd pix. My PVC doesn't come all the way down, due to the "lip" on it. I'm about 4" or so short.
edit: looking at this thread, I see some ideas! I'll have to make a run to Ace now ....

Don't worry, I don't need them. I just wanted a set of spares. You can keep them and use them instead of your 8000k. Trust me use the 6000k bulbs. I have 4300+k bulbs now and they make a world of difference in light output.
To cover the open part in the deflector, you could use a 3" to 4" PVC coupler. Some people use the range covers to lay over parts of the reflector so light does not escape.
