2002 Max's @ carsdirect!{& cheap!}

www.carsdirect.com updated there pricing for the new 2002 Maxima! They are selling all 2002 max's for $100 over invoice, so another words, a 2002 6spd SE can be purchased for $23,911. Not bad at all if you ask me. The 2002 Altimas are being sold for $500 under MSRP, give it a few months and it should drop down in price a bit more.

Now if some one whould by my damn I30 I could get one! Argh, you want it? $16,000. How about a Max? $9.3K

What the I30 or 2002 max?{good price?}

I have been running adds on my I30 intermitantly for the last month and I have only recieved one call and 1 email, very disscuraging indeed. I just droped my public selling price form 16.9K to 16.3K today & what do you know, no calls!

Trading in is getting mighty tempting..

Right...but the price on the 2001's is going down, down, down. I drove a 2002 Altima 3.5 SE 5spd last Thurs night. Sweet! and faster than my '97 SE 5spd. Kinda VW-ish looking though. And I said to the salesman when passing the 2001 Max's "so you pretty much giving those away?" he says "yeah...pretty much". I think you could get a great deal on a 2001. Of course a salesman tells you what you what to hear. Going to try the s/c Xterra next.

I heard that those aren't lasting on dealer's lots for long. One dealership got them in, and in 30 min it was gone.

Dealer in my area had at least the one, black, and one yellow. He said they have sold (not delivered) like 5 6spd 2002 Max's and 3 350Z's (due next spring). He said stop back in mid Oct. to try the Sentra v-spec. And the Infiniti G35 rwd sounds like the ticket! Love all these new Nissan's!

You know what Emax,

If I had a job right now, I'd buy your 95 right now. I'm looking at a 10,000 car and I'd like to get the Prelude, but VTEC Preludes for 10k are hard to find. You're somewhere in east coast, right? I'm in DC metro and I'm willing to drive up to 300 miles with my brother to pick up a car if I ever buy one.

I graduated with 3 job offers 2 years ago, but now I'm unemployed.

It's a close ratio 6spd manual. Basicaly all the gears are a little closer and 6th gear is a little longer then our old 5th gear.

Kevlo, some dealers will buy a car off of you but they only give you about the same as a trade in value. It's a much better value to trade in becuase you save a lot on taxes.

Yeah, I was very impressed with the pricing

I put together a midnight blue w/ black leather, moonroof, bose, meridian(heated seats,steering), auto(or 6 spd, same price). In other words every single option except for the Navigation for $27.7K compared to the $31K its going for at the dealerships.

around--eliminating losses would mean to keep driving the car as the cost per mile is not going to be as high as it was the first 3 1/2 years. Is there really anything wrong with a 3 year-old car? Those who don't care about money and like to have something new all the time have an alternative......leasing!! Kinda like renting an apartment except you do pay the property tax (if you live in such a state) and also the maintenance. Man what a great invention for the car co!! $100 over invoice is too much, that allows the dealer to make about 800. Need to slash it by at least 400-600, these are Nissans not BMWs.

i've thought about leasing because i'm not gonna mod this new car much at all. maybe a couple mild bolt ons but nothing like i did to this car. but i heard you have to be 21 to lease a car so damn. i'm screwed.

no i'm serious this time, i figure if i buy a car almost at the limits of what i can comfortably pay every month, around 400 a month plus the extra 100 for insurance then i won't have the time or money to mod it.
