For all those who are interested in a real aluminum dash kit for the 89-92 Maxima.... I spoke with Mike at Joshua Tree Woodtrim and he is willing to make a real aluminum dash kit for our model if he can get 30 prepaid orders first. Currently they do not make a kit out of real aluminum for our year. If you are interested maybe you could reply to this post and we can get an idea of how many people are interested.

Thanks

Yeah...I'm go as long as it is reasonable....how's about door trim too? A price around $200 right? I have adhesive carbon fiber right now...would that be easy to take off?

The real aluminum kit that is currently available for the 92-94 Maxima is priced at aprox $180.00. They do not have a door kit for that model but for other models the price is about $45.00. The most we should have to pay would be $225.00 for the dash and door kit based on those prices. I can see if we can get a group deal after if we generate enough interest. As far as getting your current kit removed I think there should be a way to do it without jacking up your dash....Anyone have any suggestions??

If it's around $225 or less then I'm in...

But it must include the door kit also.

The aluminum kit that they make is simulated aluminum. It's basically fake aluminum with some type of thick clear coating on it. I actually ordered one and did not like it so I returned it. I then ordered another one which I thought was real aluminum because the link on their webpage says "brushed aluminum". I later found out from Mike that they do not currently make a real aluminum kit for the 89-91 Maxima. He emailed me and told me that if I could get 30 people he could have a real aluminum kit made for the 89-91 model. I don't know if we will be able to get a group deal. I will ask him if we get enough people.

No, it won't cover the shifter.. that piece has too many curves in it to make anything to fit over it. maybe with carbon fiber or something flexible, sure.. but you just can't bend metal into that shape without melting it.
