Hello guys:

I was driving yesterday and my car just stopped moving.
All the electronics work, and the engine turns on fine, but I can't put it in reverse/drive. it sounds like the gears are not fully engaging, and some times the speedometer revs up and says i'm going 20 mph even though i'm not moving.

any help?

 

checked the fluid?

 

Your axle is broken.

Barring better information, this is all I can say.

 

Or the spider gears of the differential. If it's the diff spider gears, do not drive it or else things will come apart further and punch a hole through your transmission housing.

So when you rev, you're NEVER moving but SOMETIMES it says you are?

I have a similar problem. The car (Maxima 2000 GLE) would stop at low speeds. then one day, the car stopped moving in "D". It moves in 1and reverse though.

Not sure if this is a transmission problem.

Please help
