Change Horn on 6.5 Gen Max
Change Horn on 6.5 Gen Max
Hi Guys,
I am a regular member over at my6thgen.org, but the site is down so I figured I'd post here for a quick question...
There is very limited information on how to change the horn for your car online, (there is one thread on this website but it's all speculation, no details). And the Owner's manual does not tell you what to do, just says it may screw with the airbag system (wtf). I am doing this because my horn feels weaksauce, and my girlfriends '12 Altima seems much louder than mine.
Our cars are equipped with two horns from the factory, one under each headlight(ish). My question is I've never swapped them, has anyone done it here and if so whats the best way to access? I don't want to drop the bumper unless I absolutely have to.
I'm also attaching a picture of the two horns I bought from a junkyard, guy said it came off an '07 Max, my worry is that they are aftermarket because I thought they looked like disc horns. (I've never seen what my stock ones look like yet). Any input is appreciated and hopefully can help other members do this. The picture I'd like to know if it is a stock horn.

This thread has some stuff. This user's 6th gen had a trumpet horns, like the one you posted in your attachment.
