My door chime on my 99 maxima isn't working. The door lights turn on when I open the door but no sounds when the headlights are on and you open the door.

already checked the white plug/box thing under the steering column and it's plugged in. (https://maxima.org/forums/infiniti-i...oor-chime.html)

Any help is appreciated.

 

Either the chime itself has gone bad or the Body Control Module has gone bad. Remove the chime and jumper 12 volts to it and see if it works. I don't know if the chime is polarity sensitive, but when in the car, 12 volts is applied to the connection with the yellow/blue stripe wire.

I thought it only chimed for keys in ignition or lights left on

 

May be it was unplug i unplug mine.is next to the fuses you need to remove the cover its about for screws

mine still works in my 95 for my lights and keys in the ignition. sometimes
