Reset air bag lights

I have a 1999 Infiniti I30, most of the items are similar to 99 Maxima. My air bag lights have been blinking for some time. I have been able to reset it using the press door **** 7 method. But it does not work any more. Tried 3 variations of the same method. Is there a reason why it won't work anymore. Is it possible to reset it by any other way. I need to get my inspection passed and with the light blinking its not going to pass.

Regards

There may be a loose connection or broken wire to one of the sensors. I've used Nissan Data Scan I to identify the unit that was tripping the sensor. Some scanning software can read SRS diagnostics. I'll look for one of my older posts on this topic.

Take a look at this thread. You either have a loose connection to one of the sensor units or the SRS controller is failing.

Does your inspection require all lights to visibly turn on and off (normally) when set to "on"? If not, you can probably cheat it by taking out your light bulb as long as you think they won't notice. The procedure is actually very easy.

One of the year, I did something similar, I opened the dash and put a thick black tape over the light. Once I put the dash back, you do not see the light at all. But the guy I took it to noticed that the air bag light never came on and failed me, luckily at that time the reset procedure worked and I was able to pass. The problem is If I fail they write down the reason for failure. So I have to get it fixed as every other inspection station will know what is wrong with the car.
