Misfire making me lose my mind

Hey This is the first post I've ever made her but Im having a really confusing problem, I have a 95 automatic maxima and its having a misfire on cylinders 2 and 3 I've put in all new spark plugs and coil packs and tested compression on all cylinders and it theoretically should run also all the wires to the coilpacks are getting 13.7 V yet the problem persists

When you pull the coil off the spark plug on cylinders 1 4 5 6 it will ground with the valve cover but it wont on cylinders 2 3 but if I use the coils from cylinders 2 3 they will do it in the other cylinders

I called the dealership and they said it may be the computer but I saw almost the exact problem on a thread on here but I cant find it now and wanted to know If there's another solution before I dump more money in it just "to see"

Chinese coil packs? What brand precisely?

Did you use NGK plugs or Bosch or others?

How do you know which are misfiring? Codes?

# DETAILS MATTER!!!!

^ Agreed.

I'm going to assume for a second you got misfire codes. If so, then swap coilpack 2 with 4. Swap coilpack 3 with 5. Reset ECU and see if code moves. If so, coilpack is bad. If not, then it's time to look at your fuel injectors.

Ignore the dealership when they say the ECU could be bad. That's highly unlikely. 4th gen ECU's are about as solid as they come.

They were chinese coilpacks but when they did the same thing I put the factory nissan stamped ones back in and all the injectors are working perfectly and are getting fuel to the cylinders and tge check engine light is on but when I scan it its saying 0Dtc and the issue is the theres no spark when I swap coils from other cylinders over theres still no spark and Ive already reset the ecu Ive checked the wiring as well and theres no issues as far as I can find its just cylinders 2 3 not working

Again.... What plugs did you install?

yes it matters immensely!

And I'd suggest trying what The Wizard suggested buy swapping chinese coil packs with adjacent cylinders as well!

Then it's down to just 2 things.....

Coil Packs or Fuel Injectors. That's all that's left. And that's why The Wizard made his suggestions. If you have high mileage (absent) Injectors can fail. Sometimes even at low miles.

If the misfire(s) don't move with the coil packs, Take a deep hard \look at the Injectors

In Fact, you can swap 2 and 4 injectors easy enough They're out front and don't need the Intake plenum removed. Just make sure you lube the O-Rings and insert them without dislodging said O-Rings.

If it's the injectors, just do all of them as you already see 2 of 6 are already there. Doing the job thoroughly includes 6 injectors, 6 Grommets, 6 Insulator cushions, a JIS #2 Japanese Philips screwdriver, and you might as well do the Fuel Pressure Regulator and hoses and clamps while in there. Also consider the PCV valve and Grommet and Knock Sensor.

Motorman Fuel Injector Supply has a 6 Injector rebuilt offering that includes flow matching. (smooth running) Use "Maxima.org" in the promo code area. If you go this route.

+1 regarding moving the coils around followed by the fuel injectors.

Should the problem move along with the parts, you have defective parts.

Keep in mind that the injectors might be leaking, yet will NOT set a code. Because their electrical portion is still just fine. That's why we have our injectors rebuilt.

The issue is no spark though when I pull the coils out on cylinders 1 4 5 6 the car grounds them out on the valve cover and there sparks but on 2 and 3 it wont do that no matter what coils I put on it

Maybe unplug one coil pack at a time and hook up your DMM to whatever leads are in the plug that goes into the coil pack and see if there's a short before reaching there with the car running.

You're not saying anything here I can wrap my brain around. A WHOLE LOT of information is left up to my/our imagination(s) here. I'm no psychic. Why don't you go end to end so simple anybody can understand. Right now I bet only you have an idea what you are/aren't describing.

Sorry, you're assuming we can follow this poorly framed out scenario.

OP,

We cannot help if you won't describe what's going on.

Please use full sentences.

Can you post any codes you pulled with an obd II reader?
like JVG said leaking injectors wont throw a code but if the coil is unplugged or fried youll get an ignition code

A air intake leak can throw a misfire code as well folks....I would find what cylinders are faulty and swap the injector with a good cylinder injector to identify worthy it's a fuel injector issue EZ-PZ.

I had a similar problem and I had to change crank position sensor that's on the transmission housing. After that no more misfires.
