Serpentine belt / tensioner bolt

I have a 2012 Nissan maxima, I知 trying to replace the serpentine belt but I知 having trouble releasing tension on the tensioner. The bolt is real tight and scared I might break it. Need advice .

You're not trying to break the bolt loose, just relieve tension on the spring. This thread might help/

I understand that I have to go clockwise to release tension but tensioner doesn稚 move. How much force do I have to put? I have 93k belt never been replaced.

Either use a 1/2 drive socket wrench/breaker bar. Or you can use a "real" tension tool (Serpentine Belt Tool Kit) But as long as you have a 18" breaker bar or wrench you should be able to get it off.

I did have one that took some effort to move (a child/small person) would never be able to move it as (with all due respect to Archimedes) you have limited room to get a long enough "lever."
