Cheapest and Best performance mods for 2017 Maxima?
Does anyone know some good performance mods I can do to my 2017 Maxima that will actually increase power and acceleration without spending more than like $400?
Maybe putting on a less restrictive exhaust system however you could end up with a droning "cow mooing" sounds during acceleration. There is much discussion on that in earlier posts over the years. Frankly, I'd keep the dough in my pocket and enjoy the car for what it is.
Motordyne catback exhaust and Y pipe... Stay away from the Stillen junk....... That is about it..
The rest would be to make your car look better than everyone else.
I have had the Motordyne exhaust.. Yes it is expensive, but it sounds the best and is the best exhaust for the NIssan.
Stillen is very overpriced Chinese made stuff.. They claim its Usa, but its shipped to the Us.. via China.
Don't be fooled by the lies.

I have had their exhaust and the welds are bad and the flanges are not square.
Very few things are truly made in Usa anymore .. Stillen at one time was a premier place.. but they have succumbed to finding
cheaper ways to make products and charge outrages prices... I know where they get their rotors from
I order directly from the source and saved over $100 for the same rotors.
Sorry to burst your bubble on your favorite place..lol
or you could just press the accelerator down further which is what the pedal commander eliminates
From what I hear the Pedal Commander works well. The trade-off is that you are really putting the hurt on your CVT dialing in more high torque from a stop. These cars are just not made for that type of driving. Good luck. Report back if you do it.
The best mods for this car are exhaust mods. Do a cat back exhaust. That should give you mild sound nothing crazy and some low end torque as well as HP on top end. If you got no kids or family doesn’t mind. Grab the motordyne art pipe as well which gives you 20 torque and is easily the best part for the VQ engines. Plus the sound it gives is next to none. Keep the factory resonator unless you like the Infamous MOO(Drone)Sound. Also so you can retain the low end torque which this car needs most.
Also forgot to add that lowering the suspension gets rid of a lot of the CVT numbness if that is what you looking for . You can get a set of eibach springs for around 300.

all that pedal commander. does is for you is save you from having to push the accelerator down as much,no more power than you already have..
Get an Accord or WRX and tune it. 8th gen Maxima is what is ...............period. This is actually a good thing. If you could mod and tune a Maxima most of us would be out a couple of grand and eventually frag the CVT.
Correct analysis. Maxima runs very well as is.
