Egine Hoses (EGR Coolant, Valve cover)

Hello,
Getting ready to sell my 1998 Maxima but I still need to do some work before that happens. Back In April my brother helped me work on the car and we couldn't get the EGR coolant hoses to go back on without leaking. So re decided to cap them off. Has anyone done this and has it lasted without blowing off. The EGR tube is clogged with carbon so it is not doing a whole lot anyway.

For those hoses (sorry I dont have a picture) are they 3/8? I am thinking I probably should replace them just for piece of mind for the next owner. I have read that blocking coolant to the egr is okay but I am just worried about the caps blowing off. However they haven't yet with the car idling every once in a while

This new to me my EGR system doesn't involve coolant....You might be confusing the TB coolant hoses with the the EGR! The TB coolant hoses are all blocked on every Maxima I own especially here in TX.

Coolant flows through the intake right at the EGR port. Not exactly going to the EGR but I understand what you mean. Only 1999+ with electric EGR has coolant flowing through the valve.

What kind of cap did you use? Are they clamped?

I don't know the size off the top of my head. I used one of the original hoses and looped it right at the coolant log. This bypasses the TB and EGR.

Here is a picture.. is this clamp okay? I would like to run a hose into another fitting without having to take the UIM off again
