RESOLVED - CLOSED - Trunk lid switch rubber deterioration

RESOLVED - CLOSED

UPDATE - I purchased 25380-EG010 (the switch) and installed it (see photo). The installation/replacement was simple, but tedious: (1) remove cover about 15 clips and bumpers (for the bumpers reach behind metal and push the bumpers clip (you will have to do this blind)), (2) unplug all connectors, (3) unscrew three bolts, (4) unclip orange clips, dismounting the chrome part, (5) unplug the switch and push it through the hole car body, (6) mount new switch (reversing 5), and (6) clip orange clips, screw bolts on, plug connectors in, and reattach the cover.

/////////////////////////////////

2010 SV - The (external) trunk release switch’s rubber has deteriorated exposing the plastic switch. I see:

REAR CHROME TRIM MOLDING - Nissan (84810-9N20A)

which appears to include the switch… and is expensive.

Is it possible to purchase and replace just the switch (including the rubber protection)? If so, what is the part number (is it a non OEM part?) and where can you get it? Has someone performed this replacement before, and, if so, was there any issues?

Yep. The car spent most of its life in high humidity areas, but I am sure this is a normal problem that all will experience

I think this is the part:

25380-EG010

However, I am not sure (can anyone confirm fit (2010 sv)) and ease of replacement?

I'm also interested in this as my rubber button is semi-melted and sticky.

I just bought this recently but haven't installed it yet. Our cars aren't listed but a few reviewers said it fit fine in their 7th gen Max. I'll come back with the results when I get around to putting it in.

I replaced mine and it works fine (still going strong). Lots of screwing to access it, but no big problems. You?

Yup, I replaced mine. Year and a half and no issues. It should only be 3 bolts to remove if I remember correctly. Did a carbon fiber wrap on the lid too while I had it off.

I just finished changing out this switch, thanks to your post I was able to save $90 CAD buying that $10 switch from Amazon. Works like a charm. Whole process took 15-20 mins.

Replaced my switch today

Replaced my sticky deteriorated rubber switch today with the Ando Racing switch at
Amazon Amazon
Took under an hour... need pry tool to remove clips holding cover inside trunk lid, as shown in this video I found:
("Nissan/Infiniti Trunk Latch Replacement"). I did remove all the clips, and tried to pry off the interior trunk release plastic mount but then found the cover just slips off over it if twist it side to side. The rest was quite easy... hex nut driver to remove 3 bolts holding the chrome exterior piece, then had to use pliers to squeeze and release 2 orange clips while pushing them out with the tip of needlenose pliers.... one side kept popping pack in so I stuck the handles of the needlenose between chrome and trunk lid to hold it out while releasing the 2nd orange clip with a squeeze. Rest is a breeze. Switch is identical drop in replacement, works great! Thanks to all who post here!
