My dealer experience: 2k2 recall

So I decided to take care of the pedal stop recall on my 2k2 this Saturday in Glendale Nissan, IL, and I wanted to share the experience...

Setting up the appointment was a breeze. I contacted my salesman via the internet and he arranged everything for me.
I showed up and pulled into the service department. My car had around
1850 miles in it. The service clerk tells me my first oil service was due in about 1000 miles and asked me if I wanted them to take care of it. I declined it. So far so good...

I ask him about the filler tube protector missing in 2k2 Maximas. He looks at me weird and then looks at what seemed was one of the senior service guys... I told him the 2000's and 2001's used to have such part. He gives me the "well, if it was for 2000's, it won't fit a 2002." The senior service guy recommended him to look at another 2k2 and you know what happened... It did not have it. So, I told him not to worry.

I stopped at the Parts Dept. to pick up couple of oil filters ($7.00 a pop! what a rip-off). They parts clerk was pretty cool. I told him the story about the filler tube protector. He checked the 2000/2001 diagrams (Model: A33B 767-A 03 BODY SIDE FITTINGS) and he found the part number (p/n 76749), so I order it.

While waiting for my car, I decided to check the cars in the lot. While I was in the lot, I noticed this mechanic banging one of the service bay doors and cursing. He was driving a car that made it to the service department just behind mine... It seems he was locked out and nobody would open the door for him.
After somebody finally did, this a**hole jump into the car, slammed the car's door hard, accelerated it hard into the service bay and slammed the car's door hard one again when getting out of the car, still cursing...

45 minutes later, the service was done. Checked the car for scratches or dirty interior, but it was fine. And I was out of there in a hurry with a feel of relief...

That is why I am afraid to go to dealer for little things.
I guess I do have to go for the recall one, but dealers are morons. They treat your car like a piece of ****.

Well tommorrow is my first day of spring break, it involves taking my car to the Nissan Service techies in Hackensack, NJ. Lets see what they say to me about my fuel probs, brakes, tranny.
