2000$ TO SPEND........PlZ HELP!

Hey guys.......me and a friend have 1500$ to spend on his Max......
here's what we plan to do:

1) Get a JWT ECU
2) Get headers

Now I got some questions:

1) Now much would an ECU cost.....and how much would it cost to install it in US currency?

2) Where can we get the headers from for a 96' Max, how much would they cost, and is the installation simple enough for a 2 year Max veteran?

You responses would be much appreciated!!!

headers dont help the maxima and only one company makes them and if i remember correctly they were quite expensive. SO.....
1. Warpspeed CAI = $155 from www.warpspeedperformance.com
2. Warspeed Y-pipe = $225
3. Pacesetter STS (assuming hes a 5spd) = $68 from www.custommaxima.com
4. Addco RSB = $129 from custommaxima.com
5. Sprint Springs = $200 from (shop around)
6. KYB AGX struts = $370 from custommaxima.com
7. ACT clutch = $319 from www.eatricezone.com
so 155+225+68+129+370+319+200= $1466, now you have $544 to spend on gas and speeding tickets.

Want a mod that'll make your Max quite unique?? MEVI. It'll keep your car NA and boost top end.

Because with turbo you need new pistons rods...... and all the other stuff so that your car can handle boost!!!

But, I would seriously think about the Variable Volume intake from the middle east. Think that this might be the best NA mod you could buy but we'll see with Ian's dyno though.

Don't you guys think its sort of risky running a turbo with stock pistons and that?

Boost is boost. The engine doesn't care whether or not it is from a turbo or supercharger ... or regular hairdryer .

you should get the new W7's by JL Audio. that would be one heck of a mod. Ofcouse they are like $700 a speaker, which would leave you $100 bucks to get a head unit, 2 masive amps, caps, wires, blocks, more blocks, fuses, highs and mids, more fuses and a speaker box. Oh, and your probably gonna want a crossover....

No really, Id save up for a SUPERCHARGER! Forget tha other mods! If n you gonna spend $1500-2000 might as well spend $3000-3500! Ah, just think..........

As someone said before go for the basic stuff:
WSP CAI
Budget SS Y-Pipe
FSTB, RSB
Lowering springs and struts
and add the ME variable intake.
also clear corners and tints.

Total should be less than 1500 and your car will look, perform, and handle much better. Its better than blowing all the money on one mod(Which you dont even have enough for yet)

If you can get all of that installed for $1500 I would be impressed. . . I would recommend, in this order, but not necessarily from experience:

FSTB
Y-pipe
Variable intake (Hey it is stock, on Japanese Spec VQs)
CAI
Struts/springs
RSB
Appearance stuff. . . although this can be moved to wherever you feel it is important.

I meant without install but yea installation would run a lil bit more. Most of the stuff can be done urself tho if ur mechanically inclined.

Who started this thread???

Normally a person that starts a question like this throws in his input every now and then. Did you disappear??? And are you considering stability or speed mods. Because some people would rather go all out on suspension (RSB, FSTB, RSTB, lowering springs, and new struts) others like to go speed (Y-pipe, CAI, UDP, exhaust, ECU, now the VI, and of course super and turbocharger) and then others looks (New rims, body kit, just lowering springs, lights, clear out tails) and others audio (nice components speakers, amps, subs)....what exactly are you looking for???
