NX vs NOS my experience.

how it a 75shot able to run at 43psi? also a fuel pump isn't needed then right? you have a window switch?

NX doesn't raise the fuel pressure, instead they inject the extra fuel into the intake manifold, (not through the injectors), with the nitrous at stock fuel pressure. They both inject more fuel just in a different way.
You can probably get away with a 75 shot on the stock pump but anything higher would likely require a pump. Its not the fuel pressure with the NX kit its the flow that restricts the shot.
I don't run a window switch and I don't know of anyone else that does where I race. I don't use a full throttle switch either.
I just use a manual F&F switch that is mounted on my steering wheel with velcro. I hold it down the system is armed and spraying, I let off it stops. I hit it right out of the hole and let if off when I pass the 1/4 mile mark. It is not what 99% of the guys do on here do but it works for me.
I was always told that if you follow someone else you will never pass them so I don't fit the regular mold I am always trying to find a better and simpler way to build a mousetrap.

I've looked at nitrous setups lately, and NX looks good to me. I would definitely run a window switch because there are enough things to think about while at the track.
After researching my questions are:
Do the runs you get with your bottle vary (wet/dry)?
Does nitrous, like forced induction, increase the compression/combustion temps in the cylinders?
If so, and cylinders 5 and 6 run lean, wouldn't that lead to possible compression differences between cylinders (in the future)?
Does anyone know anything about the puddling of VTECs?.... Our Vi is different because the volume tunes the resonance. The chamber sits on top of the manifold so theres no way for a puddle to form, and it's highly unlikely that nitrous or fuel would end up in the chamber.

I run the nx on a throttle switch it does fine for the most part.If you have a nos kit,and change to the nx you will feel a diferance and run faster times with the same shot. Two weeks ago I ran a 13.5@100.5 mph rea.556,60ft.1.87,1/8.8.5 this is on a 75 shot,I am going back to the track on friday and will run a 100 shot.I went from zex to nx and it brought me down about .5 of a second.

The nozzle of the NX system guarantees 100% atomization of the fuel before going into the intake so no puddling etc like NOS. Actually NOS created puddling from the inefficiency of their nozzle that’s why they say in their manual, wet systems are prone to poor mixture distribution and fuel puddling causing backfires.

If anyone watches Popular Hot Rodding TV, they have some very nice information segments. They had one on nitrous and how it works, part of it's available online, this is only part of the full clip.

Jime, how did you wire your switch to inject the nitrous while you hold the switch down, i'm doing a windown switch but would rather use that method. Thanks Brian

Initially I had it hooked up just like the factory diagram. I just removed the WOT switch and hooked up a MotoX kill switch in series with the arming switch. I velcro it to the left side of the steering wheel and control with my thumb. Its the ultimate in control IMHO. MotoX kill switches are great because they are made for heavy duty applications. The one I use is enclosed in rubber.

I will be installing my NX EFI kit this week. I finally have some time to tackle it.
Do you have any suggestions regarding install? Any miscellaneous parts to have on hand?
Should I use teflon tape or paste?
I will be running an electric ( in cabin FPG) how will this affect tapping into the fule line for the fuel solenoid?
I am asking a lot of blind questions as I have no experience with installing Nitrous. I know with my VI and gauges, there are some sugestions I would offer to anyone doing it for the first time.
Thanks in advance...BTW I am installing on a 97 GLE (auto, obviously)and will probably use a Window switch for an additional precaution.
I am planning on using the Window switch for additional safety. I know a lot of auto guys do not use it but, better safe than sorry.

The beauty of the NX kit is that you don't have to tune because the fuel pressure remains constant unlike NOS.

Once you tap into the fuel line its easy to add another "T" for the fuel pressure or fuel cut-off switch.
NOS instructions are more comprehensive than NX, I will give them credit for that, they are virtually idiot proof. All the stuff is there in the NX instructions but its much harder to visualize because they only show the electrical drawing and not the nitrous and fuel one.
Always use new clamps for the fuel lines and only fuel hose clamps not the cheapie ones that will cut your hose if overtightened.

The type of Teflon paste is also important. I tried and wasted money on 3 different brands of Teflon paste until I found one that could handle the pressure. Don't get the Teflon sealant that comes in a tube. ie. Locitite or stuff in auto parts stores. Go to homedepot and get Heculus brand Teflon paste. It comes in a white plastic jar with brush on applicator. For some reason, these thicker darker cream color teflon paste in jars provide better seal.
What to do?
So what are the chances of a guy like me, who knows nothing about nitrous being able to get a system and either putting it on my car or getting someone to put it on my car. I am not really inclined to knowing too much about fuel pressure and working out all those calculations so what would be the best user friendly kit(not brand) and also what are the pros and cons of me installing it?
Any help is greatful!

Re: What to do?
Knowledge isn't the hard part if you can read. Having the right tools to do the job is a must. All the kits out there come with pretty good installation instruction. Read it and read it again. Read it one more time before you start. If you don't understand something, call the Tech support line. You can ask the questions in the nitrous forum also. Nitrous installation is 50% mechanical and 50% eletrical. It's best if you know how to solder or use crimp connectors. It's a plus if you know how to wire up a relays and switches.

So will i need a fuel pump with a zex 75 dry shot? I am pretty new to n20 i know alot more about turbochargers.
I would get a better kit like the nx kit, but i cant pass up a complete kit for 135.00 from a friend that needs some money.
As far as i have heard all i need is colder plugs, someone correct me if i am wrong.
Thanks,Jon

if u go over 75shot you need to start upgrading fuel pump, but alot of poeple on here have been successful without upgrading anything with 75shot. just get 2 step colder plugs and know when to spray and ur set.
