Is a bottle blanket worth the $30 bucks?

I have a bottle heater but I'm wondering what benefits if any I would gain from dropping $30 on a NOS bottle blanket. Is it made of any special material? Would a sweatshirt and a rubber band achieve the same result?

thanks

oh yea forgot to say, it would prolly help more with the bottle heater b/c it would keep the heat from the heater within the blacket.

I wonder if this would make the bottle heat up faster?

It really depends on the ambient temperature versus the desired bottle temp. The blanket will help keep the bottle warm after being heated, thus your heater won't have to work as hard (constantly turning on and off). Since I'm in Texas it'll hopefully help keep the bottle cooler during the summer (especially with a damp rag).

How long is it taking you guys w/ heaters in the cold to get the bottle pressure up to 900-950 psi? In like 20 degree weather it takes me around 15 minutes.

I'm wondering the the blanket will cut this time.

This is the exact purpose of the blanket. Retain heat, keep cold away; Keep too much heat off. The blanket helps maintain the temp longer. Just like a blanket keeps you warm at night, just keeping body temp in; same story.

As to if it's worth the money or not....it depends on your bank account. If $20-30 doesnt' hurt, then it's worth it.

I use it more for protection and looks. You know...so there won't be too much scrapes and nicks on the blue bottle. Plus, NOS puke orange bottle heater looks funny so it looks better with a blanket over it. Why couldn't NOS make the bottle heater in blue color is beyond me?
