Because they are crap and dangerous.

but so is nitrous if you dont take the proper precautions. im saying why not pick up two extra solenoids as backups in case the controller was to mess up the primary solenoids. this would allow some sort of traction that he isnt getting now.

So do you think the small nitrous line, once pressurized, and once you spray, you think it has a hard time "keeping up" to pressurize the 125-150 shots wwe were using? I can see how for a 75 it would be fine, this makes me wonder, if unless I was at max pressure, I wasn't NEAR a 125 shot, which at times I knew I wasnt. Nice work, I won't be dooing this mod, but I will be still hooking up some nitrous, in case I need it to get my 11's..
Slumming again, eh?

Yes, the small line definitely has a problem delivering enough nitrous through 16 ft of 1/8" teflon soda-straw. You can't even blow air through the straw with both ends clear... The 6AN plastic racing line is like a 3/4" garden hose.

There were three clues that the -6AN pipeline works better:

1. The first 75-shot is now a kick in the pants -
2. The second stage pulls like a beast when both are engaged.
3. The purge plume is MUCH larger - and this is through the usual NX purge solenoid with 1/8" copper tube to the outside. MUCH larger.

Before, the top end would fade out, once into third. It now seems to pull much harder.

I've got all the parts for a third stage in the mail, so I'm looking forward to spring! Probably for third gear only, but we shall see.

Launch onto the 10" slicks, engage the TC clutch at 4000 in first, let the SHift_Fast_2 shift the gears at 6500 and control the spray, cut in the third stage of 50-shot once into 3rd gear, and I'll be trying first 175-shot then 200-shot, if the junkyard dog stays together!

By then it's too late.....

Traction, phooey on traction - I need more power!!

Actually, one reason for three stages is that I can spread out the nitrous where and when I want it - or need it....

My new Shift_Fast_2 controller lets me control nitrous stages, control the torque converter clutch, and shift gears at programmed set points. Now for headers, a dyno tune on the three stages, and a warm day on a drag strip... Now I just have to figure out how to use it.

oh, that junkyard dog will last all season, I think we shall make a side bet.. Cmon, I ran 91 octane, and a 125 shot DRY last year (fuel line disconnected itself and I never checked my shi^ (DOH!) and i pulled my motor even though the block was good, makin room for the 3.5 beast I am making...

HAH - when you use junkyard parts, and you blow one, it ain't no big deal.. If you build special transmissions and/or engines, wrecking one can be expensive....... but I still want to do the 3.5L conversion - think how much fun I can have with one of those.

Besides, I like to tell the ricers I just whupped that I run a stock junkyard engine with stock manifolds and automatic transmission all the time.. and my spare tire and jack are still in the car.

Of course, when they get a look under the hood, they get more confused Heh.

It's always "show me the slip, sucka" ....

When I get the headers on - I've talked to a racer's exhaust shop locally, and since I want to keep as much of my 3" Warpspeed exhaust as possible, they are willing to take the upper ends of some long-tube EBay headers (the sections above the 3-tube collectors) and merge them into the existing 3" Y-pipe and add the cutout at the same time. This gives me what I want for headers and bungs and cutout, etc....

Err.. probably not...

There's plenty of information - and people willing to talk to you - here in the ORG. Everybody started as a novice, and learned as they went..

The car is hanging on a welder's lift as we speak - I had installed the front and rear OBX headers last weekend, and the Y-pipe part remains to be done - today. That shop does not think there is room for a cutout. We shall see.

(I have an OBX Headers thread in All Motor)

I have not taken the car to any track this season. I'm going to get the exhaust completed to my satisfaction, then strap the car down for a good dyno tune. Then I'm ready to track the car, when everything is good.....
