Installed 2 din gps/bt stereo. Not happy with it but meh. Shoulda gone with a pioneer or another well known brand.

Also installed nwp bop. I'm impressed what this little piece of metal can do. Smoother through out the entire rpms. I can even pick up speed in 4th without downshifting.

I vacuumed out the car today. Pulled off the back seat and get everything under there. Found a lot of wrappers and such. Was able to get all that cleaned up. Still gonna pull the spare tire and vacuum out in there. She's nice and clean except for all the stains on the carpet hahaha.

Well - not today, but I changed the oil back in December and took a sample to send off to Blackstone out of curiosity. I got the analysis back today, and I must say that I'm quite pleased with the results. Thought I'd share.

Not too bad for 256K miles. 2000 Max FTW

Currently replacing the spark plugs. Front 3 were done in 15 minutes, haven't done the rear 3 yet. Got the intake seperated, but waiting for my dad to drop off some extensions to reach over the intake. I didn't pull the coolant lines so my wiggle room is limited. I have the 3 rears unplugged and 1 coil pack removed. Once I get those extensions, I can get to work again. But it's been like over an hour just getting to the rears lol.

Well, got the rest of them out. The top middle one (rear middle on car) was a real pain in the ***.

They definitely needed to be changed, 130k on original plugs.

New Editions to my Maxima

Upgraded to a yellow top Optima battery, and Upgraded tires to High performance all season Kuhmo Ectsa PA31. These tires are better in every way to my Nexun 5000 that came with my car when I bought it. I noticed the quiter ride right away and better responsiveness. I Can do 70 MPH on the highway in the rain no hydroplaning what so ever. Pics coming soon.

Fog light help

I have an 02 maxima, the fuse box on the driver side only has one prong for the fog light fuse. Also there is no fuse in the carrier and only one prong to plug a fuse into. Car has fog light switch and fog light harness's behind bumper. Trying to install a factory hid fog light setup with original equipment that comes for the factory headlights. I have d2r projector replacement fogs and want to use the factory ballast and ignitors with harness. Anyone ever done this? Thanks

Blacked out the grille on my new bumper and gave Millie a bath, she's going to look good again this summer.

Just got my 01 Maxima a few days ago so today I performed a transmission drain and fill. I also cycled out some power steering fluid.

They are pretty intense at first. I wasn't sure I was going to like them after the first start-up. But after a few drives they settled down. Meaning the vibration wasn't as bad as it was at first. Now I only notice the extra vibration at stoplights if I have the heat cranked all the way up. It's really not bad at all. Not only do you get used to it, but you'll start to like it. The added traction and lack of wheel hop is very worth it.

did you flush the cooler pipes? I'm considering an ATF oil cooler unit instead because of the issues. Where is the best place to mount It?

@maximatech12 right on the front of the radiator. That's where my mechanic put mine and it works like a charm.

I did not flush the cooler pipes, just a drain and fill. What did you get the ATF cooler?

Nissan suggests flushing the cooler lines. They clog up. I can attest for this because I just pulled the radiator on my 01 then when I disconnected the ATF lines it didn't seem like there was a good flow of ATF coming out. I had a pan ready and when I pulled it it just seemed stopped up. I was expecting almost a 1/2 quart of ATF to come out.

You are not going to get a lot of oil pouring out. Expecting a pint (1/2 quart) was wayyy overly optimistic.

My review is at a hot idle it vibrates pretty bad. Like imagine a ricer muffler under the hood droning away. That's basically how it sounds like at idle.

I found that my front mount was ripped. The rear on was fine.
The tranny mount I think is the one that's ripped as well but haven't check it out.
Waiting on knights mounts to see.

Put the poly side mounts on.

People say that the side 'rarely' rip since they just hold the engine up.
They don't see any torque. Ya. Suck my **** retard.

Motor side mount was completely broken.
Tranny was cracking, but still good.

If you're wondering yes they vibrate the car like crazy
I can hear tranny noises now like high frequency gear moving.
Whatever. Never have to worry about these mounts braking over and over.

2001 ae with 2003 headlights and front bumper

Heres a shot with my first maxima too, its a 2001 gxe and it has a loud noise coming from at least one of the pulleys but i dont know which or what im going to do about it.

I just used plastix on the ae's headlights to clean them up a bit, worked alright but i want to look into getting them clearer. There are some stains on the bumper, water stains?, that i dont know how to get rid of too. Fun weekend though, very happy with the result.

Right. Nissan did install a VA radiator a few years back as a replacement so I doubt it's clogged. I did see bits and pieces of what looked like stop leak in the coolant system.
Could the AT stop leak causes stop up somewhere in the system?

Finally installed the Transgo HD2 valve body.. Unfortunately it didn't fix my 2-3 flare, and what's new is it bounces off of redline when wot..

Gonna buy some amsoil and hope that fixes it

I think your tranny cooler is too little, too late. Have you tried the lucas slip fix fluid?

On to my day...

Bypassed IACV. Dried and plugged ports.

Disconnected the motor mounts in firm position.

Pressure washed the floor mats. Started a new job and left 13 years of Outback Steakhouse behind. No more tracking nasty, stinky grease into the car.

Tomorrow:

Drain/fill 4qts of Redline D4 ATF after 10k miles of kinda sucky castrol dino ATF

Replace all 6 coils since I've had 2 of the rear bank ones fail in the last 6 months. Currently using all original 2Y000 coils I got from junker, not the 2Y001 coils.
Replacements are that set on Amazon for $85

Clean/detail engine compartment

Last month:

Accidentally put the 3.5 plugs in my 3.0 and it crushed all of the electrode tips in. Just enough to bend the tips far enough to smash the electrodes. Thankfully, none of the insulators cracked or else I'd be replacing the engine. I'm thinking there wasn't enough pressure to bend/damage a rod. There is a small chip of carbon missing from the top of the piston. Sent a borescope down the tube to check out cylinder condition. The '00 has some hefty carbon deposits at 168k.
While I was at it, I checked the 3.5 with the borescope. 80k miles on it and the inside of that engine looks like it has 10k miles on it. SO CLEAN.
