there are tons of turbo's you can get for that car but there are no kits, if that's what you are thinking of. a good turbo would be a t3/t4 or possibly a strait t4 since that has the 3.5 engine. garrett is one of the most known companies for turbos so i'd look at some of theirs.

i actually haven't had good experience with turbonetics. my wastegate screwed up once when i hooked up the vacuum part of the wastegate according to turbonetics instructions and it caused my car to boost to 15 psi... which on my untuned, non aftercooled setup was very, very dangerous. i'm surprised i didn't blow something. i've also heard that the deltagate mk III (the one i have or mk II... i can't remember) was notorious for seizing up due to carbon build up. i'm not sure if it usually seizes open or closed but i would hope that it would seize open so i don't have insane amount of boost and ruin my engine.

also, a friend of mine bought a brand new turbonetics turbocharger once and took it apart to find food sitting in one of the housing... now he always says they put them together on their lunch break

Forced Performance, they make their own turbo's and they are simply awesome. A turbo, everything hooked up, and dyno tuned would cost you about 5,000. Their welders are awesome and everything is top quality. They are located in Mckinney TX.

aftercooler is the correct term for the things we use to cool the air charge coming from the turbo. it is called that because it cools the air after it is compressed.

isnt it intercooler . confused. isnt aftercooler something vortech made for vortech scuperchargers, because some sc kits dont have a intercooler as an option. ex. stillen sc. for the max.

It's just a matter of word usage. The term intercooler is only used in the correct context when air is compressed then cooled, only to be compressed again. I.E. turbojet aircraft engine. If the charge air is cooled after compression, then the correct term is aftercooler, as mtcookson already stated.

I'd find a very good shop to do the custom fab. The turbo itself is only a very small part of the equation. I'd do some more research to see everything involved, it's a lot, a lot of things you don't think about at first are involved. Or just buy a prepackaged turbo setup like PFI's. Even then, it's not totally plug and play.

If you don't know that there is no difference between the powertrain of a GLE, GXE, and SE you need to do soem more reasearch.
