You should do some research. It not always more power, it is more usable power. Also the more power you have, the more hassale you are going to have to deal with.

there is no direct equation that it will reduce your engine life.

but obviously modding the car at all will put more wear on the engine over time. something that you should expect, not question.

I think if you take care of your car it should last just as long as a non-modded car. You can't push ***** to the walls 24/7.

no doubt, there are some Geo Storm guys out here with turbo Impulse motor swaps that would run down even some of the boosted Maximas on here...you'd be surprised

Changing pulleys in order to increase boost, what a drag. Superchargers are definitely a nice sporty upgrade, but if you want alot of power, turning a **** is a lot better then changing a pulley.

I didn't mean it in such a SERIOUS way - but all the crap that bags, jay25, and ramius have gone thru since they got their turbo.........your 1st post doesnt relate to them at all.

From what I remember, when Jay25 was supercharged......he never had as many problems as he does now w/ the turbo. Maybe same thing for Dixit.

I think the Skyline is a mock setup, but yeah basically if you look at the pics in the article of the acuta; setup its a basic belt driven SC setup--->

(BTW the big purple thing is the gas motor, kinda puts things into scale model perspecive for you in relation to a real SC)

Speaking of Geo's the Geo Storm Gsi and Geo Prizm Gsi came with a Toyota 4AGE which is a very strong engine. I believe they either use those or the 4AGZE (which i think is a 20 valve I4) in some Supra's that are pushing 50 psi of boost.

edit: actually i was wrong on the engine code. the 5 valve is just a 4AGE with a VVL head. i believe those are the ones that have 50 psi fi systems on there.

Personal choice.

actually, you can see better power gains with forced induction than you could with larger displacement. when you mix the two you get some insane power. that's why all of the fastest drag cars run large displacement engines with forced induction. large displacement alone just can't do it.

Exactly because no matter how you look at it, you're limited to atmosphetic pressure. Unless your engine is like 8 liters, at which point it doesn't matter
