I would say throw in a VG30ET spend about 2000 bucks and have a pretty fast 3rd gen for much cheaper then turboing a VE. Thats what i did and worked well for me.

you could spend that $2000 on a VG30ET swap but you could also put a $200 y-pipe on a VE 5spd and it would still walk a VGT swaped max at stock boost
