S/C problems....pulley broken and belt snapped

so im at a stop light..and i hear squeeking....so i think its the car next to me....then it turns green and i go, but the noise follows me and so i pulled over, turned the car off and popped the hood. the s/c belt was off the top pulley by 2 teeth and the belt was loose, i look a lil closer and see that the plastic pulley just under the s/c is broken (bearings also) and the tensioner pulley is broken.

so i gotta order them from stillen but first i wanna see if anybody on the org has them....is wut i called them ok, or are there more technical names for the pulleys. as for the belt can i get it from any where..or is it specific?

get rid of the plastic ones and order the metal one. The plastic one's melt or break.

for the V1 there is no metal idler pulley available.

you can either order from stillen : they have very limited stock of the V1 idler pulley, if any left. even if they do...they want close to $100 for it. not to mention a huge headache they will give you.

or you can go to a parts store that carries Dayco pulleys. the Dayco 76mm pulley with sides, is an exact replacement for the V1 idler pulley. i believe it is <$20. yes the Dayco is plastic, but for the V1 there is no metal idler pulley available unless you send your broken stillen V1 idler to ASP in Texas and have them form a new mold.

i have had the dayco on mine for a good while now...and it has held up with no problems. just make sure you dont overtighten the belt when you replace the pulley.

as for the tensioner pulley...i would guess the nissan parts dept. would be the best place to look.

Anyon else remember that. I could be wrong, not sure.

The V2 bracket has a 2" 6-rib pulley doesn't it?

I measured my metal one that came with the kit and it was about that size. In reference to the dayco pulley:

It is cross referenced to Gates Part. No. 38006 76mm (6K) DRIVEALIGN B/S PULLEY

The pulley is in gauged steel and is very light in wieght.

It has a red NTN Canada bearing in the middle.

If any V1 owner would like to test this pulley out. Please email me at slimermax1@gmail.com

I bought this pulley a long time ago to try to test fit it on my car. For those V2 owners looking for a replacement idler pulley for your kit, these are not the part numbers that you can use. My parts supplier does not have a 2" pulley. Other than ASPand Stillen, what companies might have a similar part in stock?

This Exact Pulley did NOT work with my V1 kit...the nub that is on my plate was too far out and the pulley was set too far out from everything
I put it all together, ran it for 3 min, saw that the belt was going in on the alternator at the wrong angle telling me that the Dayco brought the belt too far AWAY from the engine, took it back apart, put the Fenner back on and started it back up...

Fenner Drive is the only 76mm w/flange pulley that works with mine
