Gauging Interest: FS: V1 S/C Plate
Yo matty.
Can u give us a pix of how a V1 plate looks like? me and some other guys here are curious how the plate holes look like and such.... if that is not too much trouble. I didn't know that u don't have to move the alternanator much....maybe that is part of the reason why the V1 plate is more reliable + the iron plate material.
thanx in advance for this project

That pic also doesnt have the pulley on it...the last bolt on the bottom is where the idler is..youll get a better idea once I get these done
Yea its the J-plate that the drain hose connects to...You cant see the opening cause I have a bag on it
I used Permatex Ultra Blue..thats actually a new seal since I just put in the water pump..

I still havent gotten a price on the thermo housing...like i said before, I want a pic of the entire kit on my floor, with alot of pictures and then I'll give a price...
Ill give you a hint..Stillen V2 plate retails for $789. If you get it for a discount its $525 and there not even making them any longer....Now mind you, that price is just for the V2 plate which is aluminum and causes belt issues....that price is minus the Idler Pulley, Thermostat + Thermo housing....(I know stillen is WAY overpriced, but that gives you an idea)
Right now I can give a price range from $460-$550...thats not writen in stone either...This isnt the kind of thing thats just gonna be $100 and your done...These plates take alot of machining and a considerable amount of time...Its a peice of work these plates...

matty, just once i got my plate cheaper than that, but i was REAL lucky. Guys, matty is providing us with an amazing product that is a little more refined to the original v1 plate. If you are interested in FI at all, I would seriously consider making an investment. Just my .02

The main thing it NEEDS to be is
Straight Discharge
Counter Clockwise Rotation...
Alot of Vortech Head Units can be found on Ebay everyday..From Vortech they retail about $1800 Brand NEW..but I'm not 100% sure on that price
Im really happy on the how the plate came out...I cant wait till they start getting out and being used...This will be very benifitial to people that want to build there own kit. 3" charge pipe, reliable V1 Mounting plate...What a perfect daily driver
For all that missed the pic, here it is again mounted on the car...

If somebody wants to put together their own kit with Matty's plate and an Ebay blower, PM me. I'm in the process of taking all the Stillen stuff off my car except for the blower and plate. Good thing I paid a lot of $$ for it less than a year ago! I'm putting in AWIC and Stillen gear must go to make room for custom stuff. Specifically, I don't need the air intake pipe and K&N filter, charge pipe, fittings, fuel booster pump, pressure relay, vortech FMU. I also have extra idler and tensioner pulleys from V2 plate. Don't know if they work for Matty's V1 plate. This is all off a 2000Max. Should be good for any 5th gen, but I'm not completely sure.

The main thing to make a custom kit is that modified water pump cover to be able to accomidate the drain back hose from the blower...the charge pipe is easy to have made, just pricey especially if its 3". I know from experience...

If you were on a budget, you can easily do it for $200 though...

For the feed line you need to make a t out of fittings where the oil pressure sender is.
For the return line, you need to make a j-plate out of the water pump cover. basically just weld on a pipe to the cover. I forget the nissan part number, but the line itself is the crankcase hose that connects from the front bank to the intake tract on your na intake.
I hope that wasn't confusing.
There is nothing to tap really.

The rubber hose, like slimer was explaining, is purchased from nissan (crank case breather at the front of the engine) and is cut a bit so it doenst crimp between the blower and J-plate
-matt
P.S. I could have a few J-plates made..but thats a lot more down time on my car...If I can get 7 Solid orders for J-plates, paid in full, then I could see if feezable...parts alone would $500 from Nissan
Im thinking outloud
