How long ago did you order your jim wolf ecu. Traditionally it takes between 10 and 12 weeks to get them back, almost always more than 8 at least.

Hard to tell how low the turbo is mounted. But it's right at the spot where if I bottom out I hit my feed pipe.

That scavange pump looks like a very common pump used for many DIY alky injection systems (goes for about $70 new online); however, I am not sure what mods he has done to it.

It should work nicely though.

You aren't going to have your ECU for another month and half at least... 10-12 weeks is normal, 8 weeks minimum. JWT is awesome like that.

So why are you getting the JWT ECU anyways?

Just call them and say to return your ECU unmodded and get the EU and be much better off tune wise without the crazy wait.

This is a really nice and clean setup you got there,I did plan to do my forward turbo the same way, when I hook up my reverse y pipe turbo,I was looking under the motor and see if there was any room for the forward turbo setup, but found the room was limit to either use real small pipe or modify the front mount, looking at your pic,you only modify the front mount right? So I see your feed oil line come from the back and through the front, couldn't really see it clear in the pic,but is the feed line higher than the drain line or they are level?Keep up the great work and keep us update.I hope you will get your ECU soon,LOL.

yeah i had to mod the hell out of the front mount.. to make it all work.. but nothing is lower than the cross member.. and the oil supply line comes fromt he sender unit..to the turbo.. up over the trans... now the return is a different story.. i am waiting on my pump should be here today.. so i gotta splice that in-line and wire it up.. i wanted people to open the hood and not see a huge turbo there.. also with it down low like it is should stay quite cool! but i gotta be careful of road debri hitting it.. but i figure it this way.. the oil pan and the bottom of the trans are 1/2 of a inch to a 1in lower than the turbo.. and well i still have my oil pan! I am hoping for it to run good but i know there are gonna be un-forseen prolems.! just the way it goes.. I have spent countless time just cutting and fitting pipes! well thanks for the nice coments and more pics to come!!!

I think you are going to regret not listening to others about ditching the JWT ECU idea. They have had it 3 weeks and I can pretty much guarantee they haven't touched it yet. I would call and get them to send it back and get a Emanage U to do all the tuning with.

well I read the thread on the emanage.. and people not getting it to work with the cam/ crank sensor.. I have put a ton of though into this project.. and well I will prob regreat sending it to them.. but i wanted a higher red-line and from what i read the e-manage cant do that.. (i may be wrong) and I am not confitant in the e-manange.. how to tune it.. I am sure i could figure it out. well I even asked jim wolf about what people said.. and i was told that most people dont listen to them and run different injectors that what they specify.. but like i said i dont know if that is true just what i was told! so i am sure that in like 4weeks or so when i get my ecm it wont work and it will be all wrong.. from what i hear.. but some times you gotta learn a lesson the hard way.. I would rather not make as much power as i should VS run to lean and melt a pistion...

The EU can adjust redline now. It can also control AFR and Ign Timing.

I would put some oil in the turbo's center section and spin it around a little prior to startup.

Just so the bearings aren't dry at startup (just incase you haven't thought about this).

Yeah I think the pics do help to understand your setup better. I dont know the first thing about hooking up a turbo but I will be using your pics to understand it a little better. I didnt think you would be able to hide the intercooler but you did perfectly. The only thing someone may notice is the red piping. Very nice work on your setup and I'll be following it to the end.

Well it is 7pm sat night just got it running with a ecm from a 1995 max auto.. the ecm actually works good with the configuration but!!! The turbo is NO GOOD it burns oil now.. ( the oil is coming out of the exhaust side of the housing) and it wont boost over 4psi even with the waste gate actuator vacume line disconnected.. this sucks.. but what can you do.. I am gonna have to have it re-bulit.. well if anyone has any ideas on what to do let me know thanks!!

ps I do have a oil return pump and it is working good (i checked that)

yeah i got the feed lines and the return correct.. the problem is that when i turn off the car all the remaining oil drains into the turbo and then upon start up is when it all burns out.. so what i need to do is have my return pump on for like 15-20 seconds after engine shut off to remove the rest of the oil.. and for the no boost I have no idea... the only thing i can think is that the housing that the plunger seals aginst is warped? I am not sure but something i am gonn ahave to check out!! but where the turbo is it is hella easy to remove!! that is a good thing.. but even with 3.5-4.0 psi this car feels great I am soo happy with how it is right now.. I cant wait until i get to double that!! well more to come when i find out more!!!

Was this a cheapo ebay turbo (~$300-$350)?

Several of these chinese turbos are known to be of very poor quality (usually poor balance) and eat themselves in very short order...

However, in your case it sounds like you have two issues.

One is a bad oil seal, which is leaking oil into your exhaust housing. This could be from too much oil flow feeding to the turbo (pushes past the seal), the oil not being pumped out sufficiently (you said you checked this one), or from the seal being bad initially.

Also, you are not able to acheive over 4 PSI even without a pressure signal from the manifold. This sounds like the wastegate is leaking (weak spring?) or you have some bad exhaust leaks pre turbine.

be easy on dumping the turbo.. does the turbo have a check valve in it for the feed line? what size feed line? are you sure oil is draining ok form the turbo? How do you know?

What exhaust size? if the exhaust is to small(STOCK) your boost will be limited by the back pressure.. try open exhaust?

well i do have the correct resztrictor.. and like i said b4 the oil buring is cause by oil sitting in the turbo after i turn the car off i just need to run my oil return pump after i turn the car off.. so i got a timer relay comin for that.. and for the other problem.. I know it isnt a weak spring on my wastegate actuator.. it is just leaking past the waste gate inside.. the turbo was brand new garrett t3/t4

I wouldn't think that oil not under pressure should ever leak through the seals...If it could then it would only leak worse during times when it is pressurized.

I would think the seal is questionable.
