Piping is 3" with Chromex Ceramic Coating.
CAI is also 3" using a 3.5" - 3" silicone adapter, K&N filter with a 3" opening, and a 90 degree bend - also ceramic coated with Chromex.

I stupidly forgot to do the little tiny bend between the straight pipe and the MAF. I'll be taking that in next week to get Chromexed.

Nice!! The look of the MEVI really compliments the engine bay the best. Now get rid of those worm clamps (or at least cut them down) and you're set!!

Actually this thread was just meant to be about the Chromexed piping - but thanks everyone for your compliments.

I have already ordered more T-Clamps, btw.

Thats pretty bling blingin! You should do something about the over flow bottle and washer filler neck. They look out of place and dirty.

Looks nice, OT. How is compressor surge treating you with that BOV? MY SSQV sucks.

It's pretty bad....stupid compressor surge and flutter. With the CAI it's better, but still there.

But I've decided I can live with it.....the Blitz BOV I have wasn't much better even with a weakened spring anyway.

I just meant the color was out of place. Everything else is polished or red. The white and blue take away from the theme.

Ditto to everyone above. I wish I could've seen the chromex treatment the other weekend. I'll just have to wait til next time. CAI looks a lot better than the beat up filter you had on at the meet!

www.performancecoatings.com

Auburn, WA - about 20 minutes from my house in Puyallup, WA (Seattle area).

They do shipping - but there's probably someplace in your area that does it.

The coating was invented by NASA and resists heat up to 1300 degrees.....

I am still confused why people wrap their pipes or, like you mention here, coat their pipes to keep heat out. I've done a lot of tinkering with my Autometer intake temp gauge and my digital oven thermometer (with a remote probe and min and max memory) ($13 at Wal-Mart). I can assure you that boost it much hotter than engine bay temps. It seems like you are trapping heat in your pipe when you coat/cover them. ?

Simple. Because it looks sexy.

It's not an insulator, it's a heat barrier. Likely on the relatively low amount of heat the S/C puts out it doesn't make any difference.

I can say I've dynoed with heat resistant coating and without, and while I never did a technical comparison, there was no negligable difference I could detect.
