Nobody?

Choosing this over the LC-1 is a no brainer IMO.

Can't wait for the eBay sellers to discount MSRP. I love how inexpensive quality parts are getting.

hot damn $109 for a two sensor fluid temperature gauge. I'll be getting one shortly I think, temp is a big worry for me with this custom radiator setup.

Yeah, I think this FINALLY answers my needs/wants/future upgradeability.

As long as the HDD and box isn't too expensive, I could see running 4-inputs.

So you just run a seperate gauge with this? Like who's gauge can you run with this setup.

For the $195 unit, you'd have to run a datalogger, ie emanage, etc.

However, with its 0-1V narrowband output, you should be able to hook it up to any cheap narrowband gauge. Not 100%, you might need their convertor for $30, I think.

This setup is mainly for running their uber cool HDD gauge, but is also now the cheapest WB02 and IMO the best WB02 on the market.

So since I have the EU what all would I need to purchase to datalog?

In the case I decide to go boost, what additional accessories will be beneficial?

This could not have come at a mor perfect time seeing I was in the market for one.

The AF harness for ~$20 on mohdparts.com or you can make your own with an old PC CPU fan 3-wire harness.

A pressure sensor or just buy a P/W/H Greddy Pressure gauge and tap off the included pressure sensor.

And this is to use the wideband unit in this thread correct? I am so slow qwhen it comes to this stuff but I am coming along slowly but surely. =)

It is universal and can be used with any WB02 that has a 0-5V output. You have to connect some wires and per PLX use 2-capacitors they provide, ie it isn't Plug-N-Play.

Check out page 2 of this to give you an idea of what is involved:

Likely I'll sell it to a friend, who has already been sharing the use of it with me. I may just keep it for now, the Z does fine enough for my use currently, it's just not linear output so a bit more hassle to work with, but nothing major.

How often do you calibrate it? Is it in the car full-time or only when you plan on logging?

It's not in the car full time, only when I needed to re-tune or specifically wanted to log A/F.

Of course switching over to the pressure sensor now I'll be having to do that a few more times to dial in weather changes and also when I get on the dyno.

Yes, I know. I think I'm going to keep my Greddy P/H/W gauge and run one of these HDD gauges. I haven't seen a price, but suspect it won't be cheap. However, once you add on 4-sensors, it has to be cheaper not to mention a hell lot cleaner then having a bazzillion gauges all over.

I'm going to have a J&S knock gauge, the Greddy Boost, and the PLX HDD. If I need more, I guess I'll daisy chain and put them below the single DIN slot.

my 02 cents
Just some food for thought...

1) Reading through the both Innovate and PLX forums for months now.... I see a lot more threads related to..."I need help, my xxxx doesn't work" on PLX's site.

2) Also, I don't exactly want to start mounting SM's and DM's all over the place. That will get messy really fast. With Innovate, one AUX box will do it all. (I think)

3) New technology always has problems. Look at the EU. Personally, I go for things that are "tried and true" and I always wait a short time to hear feedback from others/let some of the introductory bugs get worked out. Look at how may software upgrades there are for the EU. And hardware versions too! Software is upgradeable, but the hardware isn't. There's no "exchange program" that I've ever heard of. I'm getting pretty close to buying the EU, but I'm hesitant because maybe a new hardware unit will be produced.

4) The preferred choice amongst Supraforum members for a nice WB unit is Innovate.

I'm torn, but I'm leaning towards Innovate's LM-1/LC-1 with XD-16 gauge.

I'm no expert at this stuff, just my observations and from what I've heard from people that have used both Innovate and PLX units. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Ahhhh... choices, choices.

1)Most are R-series or moron installs.
2)You only need one DM per gauge, which can display 4-sensors.
3)EU worked fine for me. Latest revisions just make it better..definitely not a reason to not buy one.
4)Innovative makes a nice unit, but PLX is better technology and now cheaper.

PLX SM-AFR is based on the "tried and true" M200, just different modular packaging.
