its about $1100.

2-3 week turnaround on it.

Tim said it might lose some peak torque, however there will be much more area under the curve.

Why would you be getting robbed?

NA vs FI is different, even for IM design.

Well, car is going to get all bushing replaced with Energy Suspension bushings. I cant stand the wheel hop it gets in first gear. Taking off the front end clip and getting repainted. Also, slipping in a new trans. This is my winter project, to get ready for next years meets. I plan on going to the underground in NY. Hope to see some of you guys there.

That car is crazy fast.

Hey Tim. I wanted to ask you, would it be better if I would put back in my factory fly wheel or go with the lighten one that I have in now? You know with being turboed and all.

And I`m still having that same thing going on with the boost controler. Still 2% and pulling 8.4 whp maybe its just the cold weather. But, its parked now.
I really want to get this thing dialed in at 9.5psi.

And Happy New Year!!!!

fwiw my friend with a 500whp supra uses the stock flywheel because for launching purposes at the track it's better vs a lightened one because of it's mass.

a lightened flywheel will rev faster and it will slow down faster, which is great for road racing because you can get in and out of turns quicker afaik. however unless i'm mistaken only a turbo setup loses out on a lightened flywheel because it reduces engine load and hinders the turbo spoolup. such is why my friend uses the stock flywheel. a lightened flywheel will NOT show a loss in torque. The motor will make the identical torque it makes with a stock flywheel. What you lose out on is rotational inertia and you want "rotational inertia" for the launch...if that makes sense.

true...he could 'make' it hook up at the track...but it wouldn't be much of a DD then...i mean it's possible to make a fwd Grand Prix hit 8s...with a 1.388 60' too...or a bonniville squarely into the 10s...personally i'd keep the flywheel stock.

Hey, thanks. I had put on the lighten flywheel with the stage 3 clutch. But now with the turbo setup, I guess it will be coming out and the factory in.(just the flywheel) And yes your other comment makes sense. I do plan on in the spring taking it to the track so the factory flywheel should help.

I`m not so sure on that, I figure with a set of drag radials it should do pretty good. I mean right now on the street it spins in first pretty good, second it spins but you can tell its gripping (somewhat), but in third it really moves out. And right now I`m using a 280 rated tire. I plan on putting on 100 rated drag radial so that should make a huge difference.

Man I'm envious of that header! Finally sold my '02 with a modified SFR Altima kit. Never produced numbers like yours, but it was fun while it lasted. Without reinforcing the mounts the car hopped like a rabbit on every launch and even in 2/3rd if it broke traction. Never used slicks, but the Eagle F1's stuck better than my suspension could cope with.

Finally destroyed the wheel bearings, most of the bushings, right inner CV joint and the tranny was on it's way (hard to hit 3rd gear when in a hurry). Barely got what I spent on the turbo for it in the end.

Good Luck and keep the rubber side down.

Well new tranny comes in Monday or Tuesday car should be in the shop by Friday. Front bumper gets repainted too this week. So when the tranny gets done the new bushings get done also.

Have any of you guys used or know someone who used the Toyo R888 drag radials? They were the tires that I was going to use next spring at the track.

NO bro to be honest man i had problems hooking with drag radials hell i spun slicks as well. I would just get some slicks and cal it a day. I am going with 10.5 inch slicks next year since the 8.5 were spinning.

So what size rim are you using then, cause now I have a 235/35/19 and there is not much room let from the inside of the tire to the strut.

You can go as wide as 255 with struts 275 with ksportz(coil overs)
It also depends on the offset
255/50/16 on z32 na wheels

So your saying I can fit a 255/35/19 on and it will not hit my strut. Man I don`t know about that, that would be almost a 1/2" more towards my strut and thats what I have now, leftover.

I dident think you were buying 19" dragradials.
I assumed you werebuying a extra set of smaller rims.
Most guys run 15" & 16" light weight wheels.
Non the less. If you plan to stick with those rims I wouldnt suggest wider tires unless you buy spacers & extended wheel studs.

I have never used the Toyo R888's, but at our local track they are loved by the road course guys. On the strip I would recommend BFG T/A DR instead. I would also consider getting smaller wheels with less of an offset or spacers just for maxing out your timeslips. Up here in Canada slicks are bad news if you get stopped by the cops so most of us either trailer or change at the track.

p.s. Find a good tire/balancing shop that has worked with slicks. I would inflate new slicks to 38psi to ensure that the beads are seated and then static balance them at 15-18 psi. They will deform on the strip so dynamic balancing usually doesn't make a big diff. The guy I got my turbo from used to run -1 sized wheels & slicks to prevent the slicks from hitting the top inside edge of the strut tower when doing burn-outs (I guess the tire expands and the suspension bounces up, then down and hit).

And lets go back to the whp rating. You agree the that kit that you bought puts down 374whp (great) but you see that is rated for an automatic. My car is a 6speed which will give you a higher whp rating. And I also have a lighten flywheel which is less weight that the motor has to turn and again gives you more whp. Thats why I know it will be more than the 374whp that you are getting. So that is also why Im saying about 400-425. But once I get the car back with dyno sheets I will post them.

So dont say I wont hit 400-425 because I will.

I told you wouldn't hit 400-425 off of 8 psi

Looks like a great kit. Just wanted to point that out to anyone curious about the quality of it. They even have a flex section in the hotside to give it a little give and keep the hotside from cracking.

Top quality componets too. We are VERY lucky guys that a company has decided to invest a lot of time and research on what will turn out to be prob very low production and return for them. Their Intake manifold is priced fairly as well, if not on the low side, hate to say it but its true.

Would like to know some stats about the IM. Looks like those runners are pretty short. Should be fine for FI but as said before this will prob be more of a race manifold. It increase area under the curve hopefully but will still shift the powerband up a little higher. What are you guys doing for tuning?

EDIT: Re-read the write up on the kits and saw how you are addressing tuning. You guys are getting rid of the MAF though, I'm assuming just running off the MAP and IAT like speed density. How do you keep it from pulling codes though, I know really nothing about the electronics/pcm of the Vq35?
