Awesome, maybe it was a bad batch, however I was reading some old posts and they stated Dynomax claimed they were pushing too much exhaust flow for a one muffler setup. Seems abit absurd since its a 3" setup, but who knows.
Got a link to where you got your exhaust tip from? Curious to see the options and size you went with. Im thinking of going with a 4" diamater tip.

I have not bought the tip yet, I do not have much room for a tip since my muffler sits angled.

But this is the tip I would buy since it is the shortest 3" tip I could find:
http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/sh...oducts_id=4291

I have seen a pic of it, it is just a normal decent looking round chrome tip.

Says its a 4" tip, or were you refering to the inlet?

From Ive seen, a 4" outlet tip is the biggest Id like to go.

Yeah 3" inlet. I can't find short ones besides that one.

Lol, I am trying to find my cam, dunno where it is. But I have NO room for a tip. So they used a 3" truck tip they had laying around and cut it for me lol. It doesnt look too good but it is better than no tip.

For you, it will be MUCH easier since no turbo will be in the way. But def get that flowmaster tip. It is short and should fit perfectly.

I currently have a RMT setup with a flowmaster strait through muffler (maybe magnaflow?). I also have a budget ypipe with the stock cat. It drones from 1300-2300 rpm's I am ALWAYS at that range in the city so I am getting very tired of the noise.

I want ZERO, i mean ZERO drone. I do not want to sacrifice too much power for that. From my research in the past, an equal length exhaust (equal length ypipe/headers for us) will result in no drone but I was never able to confirm. Can you guys?

If I can get by w/o buying the $800+ Cattman headers, that would be nice. Any good, high flowing mufflers you guys know of? It would have to be a 3" inlet. I will look into having an equal length ypipe made if anyone can confirm my theory posted earlier. I need to wrap my 2.5" bpipe but that will not do much for the noise.
My friend, equal length ypipe is a factor here but it isnt the "key". Also, you dont need headers for that, just a custom y-pipe. Put a loop on the rear to add distance prior to the collector and it will do the trick. My custom y-pipe cost me $275 (mandrel bent).

To me my exhaust wasnt loud, streetz is the king of loud/ drony exhausts (and his auto's long gears doesnt help it either, although his CURRENT setup is surely nice lol). To me it sounded just fine. But anyways, droning is a muffler issue. You currently have a Magnaflow muffler. I'd do as he recommends and go for a Dynomax. I'd stick another 3" dynomax though, not 2.5" (too much power compromised). But then again, you do have a cutout anyways .

With my setup my car had ZERO drone. Magnaflow 24" resonators are good thats the first one I had but failed internally, then i got some nonnamebrand but same size, was still as quiet, then the dynomax muffler.

Right now I dont have a resonator at all, no cat, nothing, just the turbo and muffler, and still dont get too much drone, i do but not as bad as urs id bet you. Ofcourse when ever you want to reduce sound you are restricting airflow as well, but you cant have everything u kno. The trick for my turbo to spool up very very fast is not having anything (no resonators, or cars) before the turbo and everything wrapped, the resonator did affect spool up, but I was like 2 years without knowing that till i took it off, its not that big of a deal specially since your 5sp, so throw in a 24" or 26" straight thru res, and dynomax. you'll be happy.
From my experience, resonators change tone and directly have an effect on rasp. They dont do much for droning. I really think just going to a Dynomax will fix it (actual baffled muffler rather than a straight-through resonated muffler design). Plus keep in mind that adding a resonator on the b-pipe will cause a lag (remember when you removed your resonator for straight pipe you spooled up much faster, which makes sense because there's more volume along the "feed pipe" to the turbo that must be filled prior to getting to the turbo).

Def get a dynomax! It should get rid of the problem

Yes, put the largest magnaflow resonator you can on the car.

I vouch for this too! I had the 24" on the Maxima, and now I have one on the BMW, and for sure the best resonators out there!

Silverline is supposed to be quite good. If i am correct, I believe it's what Cattman uses. IT's what is going into my 3 inch system. I forget offhand, but i think it's 18 inches...maybe 21....

Good info guys, thanks.
However I couldnt find a Magnaflow in a 3" and I wanted to get tha parts quickly to try and get it done in the next week or so, so I bought a generic Yonaka 22" resonator. It was super cheap, so if it sounds like dookie I will just deal with it untill I can find a good one and replace it.
