It won't blow if it is tuned right, a conservative tune, proper timing pulled and you should be good, for added safety get a methanol kit, it will add a few hp also, they are on ebay for about $200 shipped for a budget one.

the jwt ecu should already have altered timing. They come with 10degree standard, 16 with a 100octane map and anything more has to be requested

Btw if you have the standard tune you'll need the 14psi spring to make decent power

14 psi is kinda much for stock everything i think, i don't even have head bolts/gasket. So well see, I'll stay with 9 and see how it goes

A little late lol but I just joined the forum not long ago. How is the turbo build coming along? 13-14 psi peak is fine on a stock DE-K with a proper tune.... it wont hold 14#s the entire rev range anyway so it shouldnt be much of a strain as long as the internals are in decent condition to begin with. I ran 13.5#s off a JWT/SAFC2 tuned setup for upwards of 50 all out 1/4 mile passes and 15-18k street miles with zero issues before I tore into the engine at all. Afterwards with ported heads and Fel Pro MLS gaskets, JWT Cams and SSIM but the same stock longblock, I run 15psi and will probably go up to 16-17 this summer once my sheetmetal upper is fabbed and on my new trans and axles, but now will be tuned on a Greddy EMU. Just my two cents.
