5th Gen Offset question

Hello guys, I have a quick question. First what offsets should I be looking for in a 18" rim? 38-40? And secondly...what offset should I look for in a 19" rim. Is + 42 ok? I've found tons of wheels I like with +42 it just seems thats all the lower they go for alot of the ones I'm into. Any help would be great!
