WTK New!!! Nitto 225/30-20

Anyone put a set of these on yet? Howz the ride? Where do you live? I live in the DC area and roads are real bad most of the time. I bend my 19's (235/35-19) all the time. Am I asking for trouble with the 30 series? Show pics!!!!!!

Well I've been running 19's on my Max since 1998. I've bent 2 sets of $5,000 wheels since then and I don't live in Pot Hole City Houston. Very, very nice place though. But I do live in the Washington, DC (murder capital for people and rims) area which it is common to see an H2 sitting on the side of the rode with a bent rim and flat. Sometimes even 2 flats. Not to mention I've run 20's on my Q45 since 1996. I'm no stranger to big custom wheels. I've been around a long time. I remember dropping $4,500 for 17" rims.

I use Nitto 235/35-19 (factory height) right now. All of the Max I've seen with bigger tires look like 4X4's. That's why I never went 20's on the Max until now. The 225/30-20 is the exact height as the factory tire. The 245/35-20 is taller which makes you slower out out of the pocket but faster top end. Judging by my tires now I imagine the 225/30-20 has just over an inch of sidewall.

So basically I want to avoid the 4X4 look. I don't really care about bending them. I bought 6 wheels. I just wanted to hear about the ride characteristics.

why are you worried about being slower outa the pocket? when running a wheel over 17", its not helpings your acceleration at all.

Yeah I bend them all the time. I just get them fixed or buy a new one. No big deal..It's a way of life. It's not much different than buying a Supercharger/Turbo and replacing your tranny or motor all the time. So I guess everyone w/ boost is an idiot too right?

I lowered my car knowing I'd smack everything in the road bigger than a peanut. But I just buy a new lip and a new paint job, tighten all the screws in the interior of the car, and go on my way.

You know the possible ill effects but you do it anyway. You just have to be willing to pay the cost. I'm willing to pay that cost. Now..does anyone have experience with this tire yet? Or do you have more smart AZZ remarks?
