After careful consideration I guess I am going to go with these tires unless someone has something terrible to say about them. Please post all experiences good and/or bad. I will need them for an all season tire as well. I live in PA where there will be snow and rain... thanks!

Read my sig and post in the other thread. Other than that, grip is much better than the crapenzas.

EDIT: you may also be interested in BrianC's review and poor tread wear. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=360247

Bang for whose buck? Let's see: 20,000 miles for about $500 (Falkens) or 50,000 miles for $900 (Pilots, for example)?

I would go with the toyo's if they made the size i need. I don't want to get away from the stock size of the 225/50/17's. I had toyo's on my old accord and i loved them.

All depends on how you drive. I squeezed around 40k miles w/ my first set of 512s.

40K is pretty damn good, but the average driver (not average org driver) won't get 40K miles out of 30K mile rated tires.

Discount tire people told me they were 50k mile tires and that's the reason why I bought them.

Tires sales people will say anything to make a sale. The 512s in 50 series or below are only rated as 30K mile tires. Above 50 series are rated to 60K miles. You were either very good or very lucky to get 40K miles out of them.

EDIT: the cutoff is 55 Series, not 50.

Hey 2KmaximaSE, I live right next door to you in Mechanicsburg. I have these tires and they have been great so far. So, I'm gonna have to see how they do when the snow hits, I'm banking on them being good, but who knows. Maybe I'll see ya on the road sometime.

Yea I know im just can't wait for the snow to hit! not... I didn't go with them I went with another goodyear to match the one up front. I still have 9 treadwear left all around with my new 11. I will keep reading on them and possibly choose them for my next tires. Let me know how you make out in the snow cause that is what my main concern was... thanks!

Falken 512's weight 22 lbs as against 25 lbs for Goodyear Tripleted and similar tires. Question is, how does this low weight helps us ???

Thanks

Less unsprung weight. Quicker acceleration.
