Would you run H-rated tires on 17"s?

These would be on my wife's 2000 with 17x7.5 or 8 rims.

I have run H-rated on my 4th gen Maximas, but they were on 15" rims...

I thought H rated tires were good to like 130 mph?

I don't see why this would be a problem, as long as the tires were the right size. Unless your wife has a serious lead foot.

The tires would probably last longer, but not grip quite as well. I think that would depend on the traction and treadwear ratings.

The reason I asked is because 2000 GXE and GLE were speed limited to 130 mph because they came with 15-in 92H and 16-in 91H tires. The optional 17 inch tires on SE's were 93V, although since this was an option, I am not sure if the speed limiter was increased to 149 mph like the 01s were.

More important than the speed rating is the load rating. Make sure you get a minimum load rating of 91.

Basically, I am just trying to decide betweek going with something like the Kumho AST or the ASX. One is Z, the other H rated. One is about $50 less for the set, but we only need 2. I knwo it is only $25, but I also need a whole new set on the Sentra, so this could get expensive...

The AST's are 94H load rating so I don't see a problem.

For a daily driver buy the one with higher tread wear.
