Who runs 255 on a 5th gen?

255/40/17s on my enkei rp01s. im slammed on jics,"front lip is 2-5-3 inchs off the ground" and my rears dont rub at all. and i have 8mm spacers. little rubbing in the front when turned full lock tho.
but it all depends on ur rim offset and such, i currently have a set of 350z 18s with 245/45/18s on the rear with no spacers and they rub all the time. im plannign on popping either my rp01s or my rsvs, or having my rear fenders rolled. or just putting on narrower tires back there, prob 225s to match the fronts. im not sure what im gonna do yet. some problems are fun to have imo!

either way it should still depend on ur offest, and if ur tracking im sure ur suspension is gonna be doing alot more travel than it would in normal street driving as well. what width rim its on also can make a difference. whether or not the sidewall is bulging and such. what size rim are these going on? hope at least 8.5?

IIRC Z32drifter has used 255/40/17s on 17 x 8.5 +40 Enkei RFP1s on his 4th gen and reported no rubbing except on the rear on dips. I would think you could get away with +30 and 255s.
I myself finally decided to get a full set of dedicated track tires, im buying the same 17 x 8.5 +40 Enkei rims but im going to use 235/40/17 Nitto NT01s. I seriously thought about buying the 255s but after some reasearch, IMO a 8.5 rim is too narrow. Without a wide rim to support a wide tire your effective traction on corners is reduced and the bigger 255s are just extra rotating weight. Not to mention the 0.3" ~ 0.4" of lowering I can get along with more aggresive gearing that the 235/40s would give me. Also one of the clubs im looking to run with doesn't allow the wheel or tire to stick out further than the OEM fender, rolled fenders are allowed. If you do run tires like that you get bumped up into a higher class and have to fight it out with serious track prepped cars. Another reason I have to run a narrower tire with a +40 offset.

on the back of my max i have 18x9.5 with 265 35 18 and no rubbing... this is with no drop currently though... With a drop and beam recenter likely still wouldnt rub, but planning on rolling rear fenders anyway
