Quandry
Here's the deal...I'm about to be in the market for a new vehicle soon. Once there was a time this wouldn't have been something to even pause to give any concideration to, go down to the Chevy, Olds, Buick dealer. Done. BUT, GM cut out the A-body (fullsize rear drive) in '96 and ****ed me off, now they're cutting Oldsmobile (America's oldest nameplate) so, as a result, a multi-generational GM man is turning his back on them! Now, to the quandry, I really like my old Max, but I don't care for FWD, not that there's much choice anymore. I also for some reason I can't explain like the (don't vomit here) Mitsubishi Diamante. What are the pros and cons of both these vehicles? Leaving out that Nissan didn't build the planes that sunk the Pacific Fleet. To further complicate matters, MG-Rover plans on releasing their new line of sport sedans into North America, GAHH!!! What to do?!?! Thanks for any guidance.

A 2002 Maxima has 255 horsepower and 246 lbs ft of torque derived from a 3.5 liter V6. The VQ series of engines has been in Ward's Top ten list for at least the past 5 years. There is an optional six speed transaxle with an optional helical limited slip differential. This car, with a skilled driver can go from 0-60 in ~6.2 seconds and run the 1/4 mile in ~14.3 seconds. Toss in high intensity discharge headlamps, an awesome bose sound system, 17 inch alloy wheels, and electronic throttle control, and you have a winner. These cars retail from ~$26k to maybe $30k.

Yeah, the new Max sounds like my car. That sounds like a better power to weight ratio than the Seville. No info on the MG Z-series?

Sorry dude, not to familar with MGs. Just know the old ones had a terrible reputation for quality. The word was to buy two or three so you would have shot at having one not in the shop.
