I just changed the bulbs on my max the blinker ones in the bumper they used to be orange not there hyper whites also changed the ones in the corners but i figured that ill just get clear corners now and then switch them when i get the new max. But I called up this place called ATV ( dont know if its only in NY) but they said $75 for piaa hyper whites for the head lights and like $30 for the clear corners. Im pretty sure that $30 was for the lense and not just the bulb
But is $75 too much for hyper whites or are the ones for like $20 just garbage ones.

Next week I am going to do the same thing you did and replace all the bulbs with hyperwhites. Right now I am using Hyper Industries head bulbs(9004). These cost about $25 a pair and look great. I use the overwattage ones...I think they are 85/100 watts. I would recommend them to you.
Do you know off the top of your head what the bulb numbers are for the blinkers and the small(not the big) orange bulb in the corners? If you don't it's ok.

I've got a 93 GXE. I do have the clear corners...but they still have the small orange bulb. I already replaced the big orange(1157) bulb in the corner but I don't know the number of the small one...I might do the same thing you did and just unscrew it. But anyway...the head bulbs I have are really white. There is extremely little hint of blue. If you are looking for the blue effect then don't get these. The Hiper Industries lights are very white.
You can get the head lights by e-mailing calvinwch@yahoo.com he is the guy I bought mine from. I bought them for $25 shipped. I suggest you get the higher wattage bulbs and get the wire harness upgrade later. I haven't gotten one yet but i am planning on getting one.

I got my PIAAs from one of the other members on the board for $50. So far, I have been pleased with the brightness and throw. As I stated in another post, I am going to change the corners, side markers, turn signals, taillights, reverse lamps, and step lights. So far, I am looking at Polarg, Hiper, and PIAA. But I am open to look at other brands.

Anyone know where to get one of these online?
Also what are the bulb numbers for the front bumper turn blinkers?

Thanks,
Roman

I have Xenon Crystal Bulbs from Eurolite. They were only $20 for the pair and they are awesome. I have changed the cornering bulbs with the same kind from Eurolite (1157). I think that small bulb that you were asking about is a 194, but I am not sure.

Some Advice...

Headlights -- 9004
Cornering (Large) -- 1157
Side Corner (small) -- 194
Turn Signals -- 1156

If you have, or plan on getting higher wattage bulbs, it is HIGHLY Recommended that you get the Upgrade Wiring Harness. I had the APC Plasma White Xenons in for about 6 months until the continued use of them completely fried my factory wiring harness. They will melt the harnesses and the wiring. Also, Higher wattage bulbs will not run at full brightness without the upgrade harness. Save yourself the trouble now, and invest in the upgrade harness. I have also Xenon 194s in all four doors and my guages.

I've changed all my lights to hyperwhites and my rear stop bulbs to LEDs, you're looking at about $100 or so for the lights.

194 x 4 - step lights
194 x 4 - dash lights
194 x 2 - cornering lights
1157 x 4 rear stop leds
1156 x 4 - front and rear turn signals
1156 x 2 - rear backup lights

so you're looking at about 20 bulbs at say $5.00 each, it'll be about $100

I didnt pay that much.,..

194 x 10 @ $5/pair

1157 x 2 @ $10/pr

1156 x 6 @ $8/pr

$61 w/o LEDs -- How do the LEDs look? Arent they facing sideways when installed? $61 is still a lot for lighs, but I think its worth it and worth the time.

Not bad, what brand did you get? I bought some lights, and when they arrived, suprise! they were PolarG

The LEDs I bought more for saftey than for looks. They are darker than halogens, but they light up instantly, plus, they'll never burn out

Hey -- Where did you buy your lights? What brand? Were they online or did you buy themm from a local shop? If local, I would be gald to pay you for the lights and the shipping if you don't mind sending them to me down in Georgia.

Okay, but the numbers above are for the stock bulbs that don't require a harness upgrade, right? I just got my clear corners and I am thinking I can just use the big bulbs that are in the old corner lenses and buy some amber 194's, is that correct?

Those overwattage bulbs are going to slowly melt away your socket...............

You don't need a harness for the cornering bulbs. You can use the 2 1157's for the cornering and 2 194's for the signal marker.

You should also check out Craig B's website for the cornering lamp rewires (1 and 2). They're pretty neat if you have a solder (and maybe some additional wires) at your disposal.
