Our crappy injectors...

How much horsepower do you guys think our injectors would handle? According to this site our injectors will handle about 215 horsepower at 43 psi of fuel pressure and 90% duty cycle. Could I pump more pressure in and somewhat safely run it? Any info would be great! Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't push them, they already suck. I'd either get some better quality OEM style, or some aftermarket 300zxt injectors.

huh? what do you mean finally listening to you?

some of my 259cc injectors are bad or something so I had to switch over to the stock ones to get my car running. it still doesn't want to quite run so i have some troubleshooting left to do.

Do VE and VG's have the same injectors? I dont think so, but I figure I would ask. I thought the VE's injectors had a 80% duty cycle limit, then again that could have just been a number used to help explain it all to me.

thanks for the link though!

Run VE injectors their limit is around 240hp before you start to max them out.

Well see how crappy our injectors are, I'll be installing 6 new ones and then take a ride to the track (within the next two weeks, they are on their way).

mtcookson, you mentioned you had someone "burn" your ECU for you...I'm surious as to who did it and how?? I'm slowly(VERY slowly) learning the process for Honda ECUs but never seen any info or known anyone other than JWT as far as "chipping" Nissans. what ECU are you using anyways...Z or Maxima??

there is a guy in canada who has successfully burnt an eprom for his 300zx ecu and is using it on his datsun 280z turbo. he said he should be able to do mine so i sent him my spare maxima ecu and some eproms and he set one of them to handle the 259cc injectors. i also had him put a 7000 rpm redline. i've not been able to really test out if it works or not since i've been having these problems with the 259cc injectors but with the 180's it will run lean which shows it definately is set for bigger injectors.

Ok... my car will run pretty good from 2000 rpm up to a little over 4000 rpm. It seems to just stop and sputter above 4000 and won't go any higher. Below 2000 rpm it sputters really bad and won't idle once the high idle shuts off. With the high idle on it stays around 2000 rpm and runs ok but then drops off and eventually dies. I have the turbo engine with all maxima sensors, a maxima wiring harness, and maxima ecu. The engine has the lower compression and euro cams. Any ideas what could be going on??

do you have a spare ecu i would try that to eliminate the posibility that the modified one is messed up especially with the different injectors

everything is back to stock minus the engine and it's doing what i said above.

edit 1: ahh crap... now that i think about it the things that aren't stock is the fuel pressure regulator and the fuel pump. i have an aeromotive fpr and a walbro 255 lph high pressure fuel pump.

edit 2: could an O2 sensor do this? Could an O2 sensor be bad and not throw a code?
