Fair price?

I'm selling my 94 GXE and wondering what I might get for it? It has 155,000 miles, it's charcoal gray with gray leather interior. Bose cd/tape, power moonroof, windows, locks, seats. In the past 10 months I have replaced 3 injectors, timing belt, water pump, and rebuilt the tranny for $2,000 friggin' dollars.

Now, both rear windows will roll down but not up. The stereo digital display stopped working and there's a chirping/metalic sound coming from my left front tire. I'm so sick of putting money into it I could puke.

Other than that everything works well, paint is good as it is a garaged car. There is some rust on the drivers side quarter around the wheel, but it's a nice looking car.

I should probably just get the wheel thing fixed and keep it longer but I'm just tired of it ya know.

I figure if someone is willing to spend $3,000 to rebuild a tranny, I should be able to get that for a whole car?

It's always a gamble sticking money into an older higher mileage car. The transmission would be worth more if you took it out and sold it separately.

You could probably get a used tranny for cheaper.

look at the competition in your area and price accordingly, i got mine for 3000 and it was overpriced but the reason they got me for that was ALL maximas in my area were overpriced, and this was a 5 spd VE, which are rare up here. Then consider that lots that i go to look at are absolutely terrible, so i was so happy to find a decent one that i didnt mind paying extra.

but if it were me, id think someone would have to be pretty nuts to pay over like 2000 for a GXE with 155000 miles and all those problems

Paid just over 2 grand for my '91 SE. 113k miles.

The body is pretty rough...a couple of dings, scratches. Looks great from 15 feet. Runs and drives like a champ though.

Oh, and it had a new radiator, clutch, manifold studs, brakes, and newer Firehawk tires.

I have you all beat. My 1990 SE was $500. It has a rebuilt transmission, new brakes (rotors too), all maintenance done, new cam seals, this and that....

Damn, why couldnt I have found a deal like that? My 1990 GXE was a tad over 2k$ at 130k miles with 10k on a new tranny, new brakes, injectors and tires. Runs great but it has a broken EM stud or three so it sounds kinda ghetto.

Part it out... I need that gas tank door... haha

3k is kind of a lot even if you put money into it... Thats the crappy thing about fixing up your car. You can put soo much money into it, but you won't get half of what you put in back. I'd say go for 2k at the most. Even with that, it still seems to be pushing it.

I HAVE ALL OF YOU BEAT. I GOT MINE FOR FREE WITH A NEW ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY. body is in great condition other than 1 hidden cancer spot. haha
