The car has been running very sluggish lately, and makes a wierd revving sound when shifting between gears (auto). RPM guage doesn't go way up like the tranny is slipping, seems to shift at the correct points, but it is the most sluggish at the shift points. Tranny was rebuilt about a year ago, fluid level is good. The only major thing I have done lately is the manifold studs. Anyone have any thoughts?

maybe bad knock sensor?

I've seen a few posts recently about the knock sensor on the VG- First off, does the VG actually have a knock sensor? All of the posts I see on here are for the VE sensor.

yes it has a knock sensor, but it's knock sensor doesn't have the heat soak problem and is MUCH easier to replace

OK, so looking through the posts that I found while doing a SEARCH (hooray, it works!!), I have only been able to determine that the VG knock sensor is located on the block, somewhere by or under the rear exhaust manifold. (Information that would have been good to have 2 months ago when I was changing manifold studs, but...)

Most people say that the sensor is not as big of a deal on th VG as it is on the VE. But, does it cause the same problems when it goes bad, and can it be checked the same way as the VE?

I have several things going on with my car at the moment, so I'm trying to narrow all the probs down.
