Bose speaker differences in plug size and color
I sse that 89-91 bose front speakers have white plug and the 92-94 has a blue plug any reason why this is? Can the 93 blue speaker plug connect to the 90 plug out of the door. I know the blue plug has an extra piece of plastic but are interchangeable? Will the amps work?

Do you have both of the speakers with you? Or are you looking to buy 92-94 Speakers? If you have them. I would just plug it in to see if it works. IIRC 1989-1992 Maxima's with Bose are rated at peak 25watts/speaker and the 1993-1994's are rated at peak 50watts/speaker.

I have 1990 bose speakers and amp fronts- they have a white plug.
I also have 1992 speakers, amp fronts but they have blue plugs. the only difference to me is the color of the plug and the fact that the blue plug has an extra piece of placstic inside of the plug sort of like a split.

The white and blue plugs are different but the wiring is the same. you can just switch the plug part. You dont have to cut the wires just take the wires out of the plastic part of the plug and and put on the other plug.
The plugs are different because the amps are not the same. I think the ones with the white plugs are louder. Or maybe the other way? But they exactly the same but will work. The only thing will be that the volume wount be balanced.

if i change both front ones it should be the same right(balanced)? and my head unit has balance/fade, so i can tweak that. i think i read in one of the posts that the amps are left-right specific, do you know anything about that? thanks for the help, is very anoying to drive with no stereo/whining/popping noise.

IMO, Mr. Amar Bose got our cars' system completely messed up. If you can, try and save up to replace all speakers with aftermarket ones. You don't have to replace the Bose HU, but you will need a modulator to adjust the power. I am selling mine if you want. I had ended up replacing the entire system (incl. HU).

isnt the amp on the speaker unit? by replacing my entire speaker units, the two front ones work now, with real sound and music and no buzzing or any such bs. btw, thanks for the offer, but i already bought a pioneer hu ages ago because i thought my hu was shot..
