Come to think of August made 9 years for me and the Maxima. I got her in 11th grade. It was an like some exotic foreign car at my redneck highschool.

Remember always:
rammed by an s10 in the student parking lot, its bumper was destroyed, mine hard a mark that waxed out.

cussed out by a crowd of people for aiming toward them and roasting the tires off with the handbrake locked (slick sealed pavement)

smoking its exotic competition one afternoon--a porsche 944

smoking the good ol boys 81 caprice, they tauntingly said "hey nolan, wanna race?" like me beating them was totally out of the question. there excuse the next day was that nolan's car was a stick. proved them wrong by taking out and showing them, they liked the "factory shift kit" (power/comfort)

smoked a boys V6 auto Mustang repeatedly

got owned by a 5.0 auto

took it out west for a few life changing years

got the speedo needle all the way "H" down San Gorgiano pass, trippin on shrooms

got on speed and drove missions 24 hours a day for almost a year

got off speed came back home and put my life back together and now I'm trying to give back to the car, its really been there through it all. There were so many times during the bad years where if the car had broken, I couldn't have fixed it. But it didn't break. I'm really attached to this car!

ps now matter how spun out I was, i always got brand name premium gas and mobil 1 fluids!

damn it will be 8 years this christmas for me. mine has gone through 2 1/2 auto trannys. 1 engine swap and 1 5-speed swap. got her with 154,xxx miles back in the day. drove her all the way up to Indiana with a bad auto tranny. then moved back down to miami, fl. but i put inside my dad's container on his semi-truck. did all the work myself.

Ive got my max just over 2 1/2 years or so. My current one any way, my first I had for 2 months before I wrecked it. But its seats live on in my current one with bits here and there. The cyl heads are in a Z31 some where. (er wait nvm i saw it in a junkyard)

Ive done some basic repairs but after I get another job its getting full poly springs, konis and eibachs. Then who knows from there. In the next few weeks I'll be sprucing up the exterior. Any way I'll have to find out exactly when I bought it....

mines put up with 18 years of Canadian winters with no break downs or major work ever done. 3rd gens are one of the best cars i have seen and had some of the best technology for the early 90's.

i got her in grade 11 in high school, people called it a grandma car. didnt bug me at all, grandma cars are always the ones with the crazy engines and *****in power. at least i didnt follow the crowd with VW Golfs and Sciroccos. they always bugged me that it probably has the classic grandma dash shifter and everything. one day i just popped the hood, i was the only one who owned a V6 and more litres than their bottles of pepsi. really the only one there that liked my Max was my buddy

a few weeks ago i had a guy follow me home in his truck and wanting to buy my 3rd gen on the spot, first thing i said is there is no way i'll ever sell it. the ONLY and ONLY thing i would MAYBE trade for is a JDM twin turbo R32 GTR Skyline in mint shape and ONLY if he would take good care of my Max

Mine is getting its first detail since last fall tomorrow. I have barely driven it since acquiring the 'vette...It's time to give her some TLC...

I've had her six years as of last month.

Something ive always wanted to see is someone do a RWD conversion on a 3rd gen, i know it would cost over 10 grand and take a ton of work but if its been done on integra's, why not? IMO 3rd gens would have had a high tuner rating and bigger aftermarket if they were RWD, they would look cool drifting too

My dreams throwing in a RB25DETT engine and RWD conversion, along with a 6spdMT. would cost like $90000 but how cool would it be

Well, I've returned to the org after not logging in for months! This date came to mind and I figured I'd bump the crap out of my 8 year old thread hahahaha!

9 years of ownership. Car has belonged to my mom since 2011. I hardly touch it now, hell its been neglected and hasn't had an oil change in nearly 1.5 years! Its currently down because the bolt that holds the parallel links in place snapped right at the head and haven't had a change to fix it but otherwise, 9 years of driving it like it was stolen and this damn thing is a tank and has truly proven itself, along with every single Maxima I have owned.

This last winter it was parked and frozen underneath ice for two weeks in BELOW 0 degree Fahrenheit temperatures and the thing started up and dominated the snow around it as if it had 4x4. Truly a well built car.

Maxima_Underrated - that should be the slogan

Nice John. I think the car is underrated too. Unfortunately for me, I wrecked my car on Mullholland Hwy 2 years ago. I think something happened in the brakes or something because I wasn't trying to break a time record. I had to junk it without getting all my "upgrades".
At least yours is still in the family.
