VG tbelt sprockets

as for the water pump, are they really that prone to failure?
the timing belt i took out looked brand new(almost), and had no scarry wear. ive had the car for 'bout 30k miles. last known replacement was 91k and its at almost 221k
they may have replaced the pump then.
it *looks* okay, and i couldn't afford a $130 pump (never going duraKrap again)

If the car was garage kept and its not a dry area, it might, mine didn't look 14 years old when I took it out, but it was. As for the water pump, Im sure its not leaking, doesn't mean it wont start next week, or the impeller inside isn't rotted through, or the shaft is weakened and could fail next week. I hope none of this happens to you of course but thats the nature of mechanical things, usually they work until they dont......... Im not flaming you for not doing it, I just feel better safe than sorry.
